I hate the smell of my house!!

I hate the smell of everything in my house!! I hate the smell of the carpet in the basement, I hate the smell of the winter tires that are in the hall (that DH HAS TO PUT AWAY TONIGHT!!), I hate the smell of the couch, I hate the smell of the air, of the walls, of the kitchen. I hate the smell of the inside of my fridge and freezer....

I don't want to be in my house because the smell makes me sick. I tried febreeze on the carpet/couch and it helps a bit, but then that smell makes me sick too.

Uggggg.

Suggestions? Other than dousing everything with baking soda to soak up smells then vacuuming everything again, which is only a temp fix.

I have all the windows open right now to help a bit, but it's a little windy/chilly out today so I can't do it 24/7....

The only place I don't mind that much is my bedroom, but that's only because I put nice clean sheets on the bed last night.

Vacuum your air ducts (or if you can... Have them professionally vacuumed) ... It helps!

I don't think it's our air ducts. We don't have A/C and the heat hasn't been on in at least 2 months, so no air has been passing through them. And they were cleaned when we bought the house last May.

I know part of it is the dog. He's old and has accidents several times a week. We set up puppy pee pads which he hits most of the time, but not always. Plus I think he's snuck off and had accidents in some places I haven't found yet.

The other part is DH. He sleeps on the couch most of the time (long story) and he has a sweating disorder so the couch gets drenched in sweat all the time. I need to have it steam cleaned.

I have a Scentsy warmer and I contacted my rep and got scents that had citrus, ginger, lavender, and peppermint in them. It has helped a lot to help me with my nausea and the smell of a house that I am pathetically not upkeeping as well right now.
