Another Peanut Butter Recall.
Smuckers this time. I nearly bought this for Maddison a few weeks ago, glad I didn't. I was infected with the peter pan salmonella a few years back, so I can barely stand peanut butter as is. Makes me want to make my own from now on.
The JM Smucker Company is recalling 16 ounce jars of its Natural Peanut Butter Chunky, due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The jars have “Best if Used By” dates of Aug. 3, 2012 and Aug. 4, 2012, plus the production codes 1307004 and 1308004. The affected jars would have been sold within the last week or so.
The Salmonella bacteria can cause fever, cramps, and diarrhea that lasts for several days and can require hospitalization. Smucker says no illnesses have been reported.
The product was distributed in: Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia.
