Birthday Planning Mode!

It's 3 months away but we are in full planning mode - partly because I'm a nut over planning parties and also because she's a Cookie Monster fanatic and there's next to nothing in the stores so we're scouring the net to find stuff. Anyone else???

always! Blum 3 I'm putting her gifts in lay-a-way on the 1st haha! as for her theme it *sounds* simple enough pink... but what i have found so far is ... um lets say more mature? I may have to do flowers or the pink poodle party i've seen.

OK i'm a sucker for pink and brown so this might be what we do

I already know that I'll be doing a Dora party but I really need to get my butt in gear and decide the where, when, and what of the party. I'm going to attempt a Dora cake  and will be making cupcakes for daycare with Dora wrappers (Dora cupcakes maybe?) Other than that I've got nothing

Not sure what I will be doing for Joshua's Birthday in Sept. I am due Sept 5 so I/we have to decide if we are going to do it b4 the baby comes or after, where to have it. I don't think that either way I want to do it at our house although I love having his party in our backyard.

We will probably do Russ' at the local park again. As of right now he wants a Buzz and Woody party but that can change again.

I've been thinking about the big #3 approaching. We don't intend on having a birthday party, but I like to choose a theme and make a cake and decorate based on the theme. Some ideas I'm looking at are Diego, Toy Story, Cat in the Hat. Those are some of his favourites right now.

All I know that we are not doing a safari/jungle theme this year as one of my monkeys insists she's now a dragon since she was that for Halloween. Right now she's totally into princesses, especially Rella Rella, and tries to find any tutu or shoes remotely close to looking like her and that's what she wears for the day. It's quite comical, but she's worn out the costumes we got when they went on clearance after Halloween. So if she stays on this kick, princesses it is! It also would make it easy for all three to designate them the princess of their choice.

I've been planning Ethan's 3rd birthday party since about a month after his 2nd birthday party ROFL I'm such a planner! We're going to do a Cars party. At first, my mom was going to make a shaped Lightning McQueen cake, but last week after going to see the real Lightning and Mater at the Transportation Museum, E said that he wanted both cakes at his party. My mom is going to start working on getting both cakes designed. Shopping for presents...that's a different story. I always have problems deciding what to get E for his birthday. I always want to buy "outdoor" gifts, but it's too late in the summer to get much use out of "outdoor" gifts Sad

I really wanted to do a Dora party for E, because he LOVES Dora, but DH said absolutely NOT Sad

Funny you should ask this b/c while I haven't started planning, just the other night Drew was very concerned about what kind of party he should have. He said he can't decide if he should have Green Bay Packers (he LOVES Aaron Rodgers) or Scooby Doo! It was so funny b/c he just kept talking about it and saying "I don't know what to choose!" and when I would tell him that he has some time to decide, he would be like" but I have to chose either Aaron or Scooby!" and was kind of stressed! He probably tells people almost daily that he will be 3 on August 12th, so I'm guessing he is excited!

My friend did a Dora party for her 3 year old boy, and asked the cake place to make it more of a "boy" Dora cake and the lady said they get that request often!

I'm thinking that we are going to have a cookout at the nearby park and invite everyone we know...and party down. I think if we do have a theme it will be trains or dogs because I would say he's equally obsessed. Then just two months later Max will be 1! Yikes!!

I am going to take all of this into consideration as well. Kim I am in the same boat as you. Zayne LOVES Dora! If Lexi has Dora on, Zayne RUNS into the living room and plops his butt right in front of the TV and doesn't move until Dora's over. He even interacts (answers questions when Dora asks and waves to her)

I know I have to do the Lexi party first but it has me thinking about Zayne's party as well. I'm thinking that I might do a Dora party but make Boots the center of attention so it looks more like a Boots party. I hope that way DH won't freak out.

I talked it over with DH and my mom.... We are going to have something at my mom's in Late August for Joshua and then have just cake and ice cream at our house on his birthday.

we will be doing a Thomas the Train party. I think we may have it here...no mess to clean up at home and no food to cook (I am so tired this pregnancy so far, can't imagine when I get bigger!!!)

My nephew had a Dora party and he's quite the little testosterone-driven boy!

Anyway, like Jenny, I'm focused on TJ's 1st birthday on April 23 Smile A party at the park. No real theme. just an opportunity for the family to get together.

For Catie, I feel bad but #3 will arrive within a week of her birthday give or take. Unless I plan something for late July, we'll probably skip the party this year and do a family celebration with cake.

Actually there's a good possibility #3 arrives ON her birthday. Catie was born 37 weeks & 2 days. TJ was born 38 weeks & 1 day. So assuming that trend continues baby will arrive 39 weeks on the nose. That's August 12 - Catie's birthday

I had a brilliant idea tonight!! I am thinking a super hero costume party! Everett has gone from buzz lightyear to superman to batman as his favorites and who knows who will be his favorite come August. So if we did a dress like your favorite superhero birthday party (adults can dress up too) I think he would love it. DH thinks it's a crazy idea because he doesn't like attention or to dress up, but his family are all big fans of all things parties.

Oh, Drew would LOVE that party!! He very seriously talks about what superhero he is going to be weekly for Halloween!! I bet the kids and adults would love it!

Amy I LOVE your idea! Infact, I think I might steal it next year and do a "Princess" dress up party! (that is if I remember)

I was thinking about it today (because I was looking at stuff to help Amber with Austin's party) and I think I want to do "Map" for Lexi's Invites. Instead of 3 destinations it would be Calendar (the date), Clock (the time), Park (location), phone (RSVP)

THEN we can do a Dora Adventure to find the cake or balloons or something. Like make 3 activities to find the missing object.

Now to make it happen! Good thing I still have 4 months!!!

I'm such a slacker! Evyn's birthday is less than 2 months away and I really haven't planned anything. I am thinking that we will do it at our local park. They have a sprayground, and seeing as it is hot at **** down here in June, I think it will work out great. Probably just serve cake and ice cream though.

Hubby really wanted to rent a waterslide like we did last year, but my father won't let us do it at their house again. He said the water made a mudpit of his backyard! He's very anal about his yard. And mine isn't big enough for the waterslide. But it was really fun.

As far as theme, I'm thinking Toy Story this year. Only because Evyn LOVES the movie and carries her Woody doll with her wherever she goes. He is her best friend.

Clifford is sooo cute. I actually used that for my dog when he turned 1! Yep, we had a party and all (this was pre-Savannah).
