Cancer update!

I will update on 3 people just for the fun of it.

Chris (DH) reached his 1 year anniversary with thyroid cancer and his recent tests came back with no evidence of cancer we don't have to go back for a year Yahoo

My MIL had the rib part removed about 3 weeks ago with ambiguous results whether it's cancer or not, but they are suspecting it is and she is facing more surgery.

Rachel *Blessedwithone(two, three, four?)* has completed her masectomies and treatments for her cancer and is now starting the reconstruction process. I keep following her blog.

Thank you for the update Amy.

Cancer sucks! Grandpa, at the age if 75, was diagnosed with Stage 3 esophageal cancer and is now come up on 2 years cancer free. But sadly I have a great uncle who is currently losing his battle with the SAME kind of cancer! He tried chemo once back in August but his body never gained it's "strength" back enough to have another round. It's so sad to see these strong, non smoking, non drinking, otherwise healthy patriarchs go through something like this.

Sorry for taking over your thread Amy. Smile

It's OK Brandie, Cancer touches everybody's lives and we all have a story to tell.

My MIL had her second surgery for fibrosarcom at the ribs yesterday. So far she's having a horrible experience with the hospital she is at and it's supposed to be the BEST.

She is in my T&P tonight.

Thanks Amy for understanding. I come from a large family (40+ people at our gatherings is normal) and Gramp's cancer was our first "close to home" experience with it so our emotions were extra raw it seemed. Now with Uncle John we are all in disbelief since he felt totally fine this summer but just had a small issue with swallowing. And now, here we are.
