Ok Ladies I need your help! We are trying to decide on a family vacation and just don't know what to do. We thought about Disney World but the time that we could go would be super busy there so we are nixing that idea. I've read about Sesame Place in PA but don't know if it would be worth the trip (ie, the kids would love it but is there anything for DH and I to do). Everytime I search for ideas it give me "all inclusive beach resorts" that have daycare for 1 and 2 year olds and all the fun stuff is for kids 3 and up.
SOOO....any one have some great ideas for families with a 1 and 2 year old? The plan is to have a baby next summer so there won't be a vacation so we kind of want to make it big.
We do lots of beach trips. Of course that's easy for us since we are driving distance. Tyler has been begging for the past month about going. We usually stay in a place that has a pool so they can do the pool or the beach. We try to go to places that have aquariums and extra things like that for the kids. We love the Outer Banks and Myrtle Beach, SC has lots of extra stuff too.
Megan I don't know if your kids are into trains, but there is Strasburg Rail Road in PA. It's in Lancaster (Dutch country). It could be fun for kids of all ages. Thomas the Tank makes an appearance there in June to pull the train. They have all sorts off events.
I was at Sesame Place once Braden was almost 2, and it was really fun for him. You could always go to the Jersey Shore for some of your vacation, then spend a day at Sesame Place. Then of course, if you decide to head west a little, there is always Hershey Park. I have season passes, and could get you tickets at a bit of discount. Our big family trip is going to be in Disney World the beginning of May. I'm hoping since schools aren't out yet, it won't be too awfully busy.

We went to a beach in Florida last summer before Drew turned 2 and it was great! We just stayed at a hotel right on the beach that had 2 nice pools and it was so much fun.
I have never been to Strasburg Railroad, but we saw Thomas the train last year at a train station in MN and it was awesome! There were tons of activities when he was there!
Jackie and Mari-
How far is Sesame Place from Lancaster, Hershey and Philly? We would be taking a week long vacation and might possibly drive. If we drove we could do a day at Sesame place and then go hit more of PA. I would LOVE to take the kids to the beach also!
Amber- Utah still isn't out of our minds either I ordered some travel info and it came with a phamplet to some museum with a dinosaur, Lexi has "claimed" the dinosaur and says she wants to go see it.
Megan- I would say that Sesame Place in Langhorne Pa is about an hour and a half from Lancaster, about 2 hours from Hershey Pa and maybe 30 to 45 mins to Philly. Depending on how long you guys are planning on staying it's totally do able. Growing up we have gone to Sesame Place.. I loved it as a kid and my parents took us there many years so they must have liked it. I am looking forward to taking Joshua there as well..
