I am trying to plan a family trip to Pennsylvania for next month. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on great places or attractions to see while we were there? We will be coming in along I81. So far some places I'm thinking of stopping at are The Crayola Factory, Sesame Street in Easton, Strasburg Railroad, the Please Touch Museum and the Philadelphia Zoo.
Thanks! Of course, everyone is welcome to pitch in with their thoughts :)
I live in PA too! Other than what you've mentioned, I would say that Hershey Park/Chocolate World is always a good place to visit, and as I offered to Megan, I've got season passes, so I could get you guys coupons if you decide to go there.
Thanks Jackie! I think this time we are going to skip over Hershey, but I think in a few years time we will go there. I was reading in the other post that Sesame Place was a good attraction for Brayden, so I think Josh will really enjoy it.
Thanks Mari for the suggestions. We might add Dutch Wonderland and Claws and Paws to the plan. There's so many things we could do, now I just have decided on what ones.
That wont be easy.. but whatever ones you do decide on I am sure you will all have a good time. let me know if you need suggestion on where to stay etc. If the Crayola factory is in your plan let me know we live about 20 mins from there.
Lindsey - I think Josh would love Sesame Place!
Mari - I've never been to the Land of Make Believe or Claws N Paws. I'll have to add them to my list of possible things to do locally!
Ok, I think I have it figured out where to go and when. It was a bit tricky because we are going in May and some stuff is only open on the weekend. Anyways, this is what I am thinking.
Arrive in Lancaster on Thursday.
Strasburg Rail Road on Friday.
Arrive in Langhorne Friday evening.
Sesame Place Fri/Sat.
Arrive in Easton Sun for Crayola Factory.
Leave for Lake Ariel Claws and Paws Mon morning.
Head home sometime Monday or Tuesday?
I would have liked to have gone to Dutch Wonderland too, but I couldn't do that plus Sesame Place and Crayola Factory because they are all only open on the weekend. I think if this trip goes well that we will make another trip there one day and do Hershey, Dutch Wonderland, etc. Now I just need to figure out what hotels we are going to stay at :)
What nights and what areas are you looking for hotels.. I may be able to scout out some for you.
