    Default Napping?

Weston seems to be giving up his naps--though he needs them! He gets up around 8 (sometimes 9 if the other kids are not too noisy getting ready for school or he is extra tired). And goes to bed around 8:30-9. All last school year he would nap from 12:30-3, and if it was not my turn for carpool, he would often sleep until 3:30 or later. Otherwise I would wake him at 3 for school pickup. Now I'm lucky if I put him down at 1 and he falls asleep by 2--often he doesn't fall asleep at all, but will come out 30 min-1 hour later and say he is done, when I know he hasn't slept. However, if I go anywhere in the car after 5 (like last night I had to pick dh up at the bus stop at 6, right before dinner) he falls asleep in the car. Or he is just a bear to be around, such a grump!

I am not ready for Weston to give up his naps! So he's only had about 2-4 naps a week lately. Are the other 3 yo's napping still, or is it a thing of the past?

Josh definitely still needs his naps. He did go through a phase of not napping for a while, but after significant signs of being overtired, we started enforcing a nap again. Most days he naps, but there are some days when he'll not. Generally those days, we put him to bed a little earlier.

Everett needs his naps. He will skip them here or there if we are out of routine but his school still has naptime everyday and he has to lay quietly on his cot. I believe it's very important for both of our sanity that we have the quiet time!

whats a nap?? lol!! i was always one of those moms that said my child will nap till shes 20 lol that way i still got at least that hour for me during the day....... Syd gave up napping shortly after 2nd birthday, it has been h*ll!!! She will fall asleep in the car after 6 if we are out or she will turn into a grump around 7 and we live with it until 10 I tried and tried to get her to continue napping but it just never worked. she will occasionally go for one but it is very far and few between.

Stephen still needs his naps. He will still sleep 2.5 hrs for nap and 9 hours at night. He is really nasty if he doesn't get his nap!! So we really push it. He also goes to daycare and they have nap/quiet time there. He is usually the first one sleeping LOL

Lexi definately still NEEDS naps however she only takes them Mon-Fri at daycare. For some reason she WILL NOT take a nap for me. It makes me really mad on the weekends. As a matter of fact, BOTH kids refuse naps on the weekends unless they are seperated or unless we take a long car trip at just the right time, then they fall asleep in the car.

Caden goes to bed around 9 and gets up around 8. He still needs a nap, but preschool is interfering lately because he only goes half a day and a lot of times he'll fall asleep on the way home. Once he's gotten even 5 minutes in, there's no going back to sleep once we're home.

E still naps and he needs it. He's been going to bed at 8:30 lately instead of 8, but day care says he naps very well. On the weekend, he doesn't nap as well, but we can always get to sleep for at least 2 hours. When my parents have him, my mom says that he takes at least a 2.5 hour nap.

I know quite a few kids at school won't take naps at home but will at school. that has got to be frustrating.

She also naps more consistently at school than at home - no matter how cranky she is, it's hard to get her to lay down at home. Sometimes she ends up taking one at like 6 or 7 pm. Beyond frustrating because she definitely still needs them.
