Everett is driving me crazy. He has a finger up his nose or in his mouth or picking his lips NON-STOP! I'm going to start a behavior chart soon because I can't take it. We just spent 10 minutes because he was freaking out that he couldn't get it out of his nose so I thought he put something IN his nose and got a flash light and the bulb sucker and looked and there is NOTHING in there. He's making himself crazy. I told him he HAD to stop touching his face.
Russ has his finger up his nose or he is chewing/sucking on his fingers/hand constantly. It drives me crazy and I don't know what to do to break it. I've told him the nose monster is going to bite his finger and it doesnt do any good. I'm interested to see what works with Everett.
Lexi is really bad about this but it seems the more I get on her the more she does it. For example if I catch her and say "please don't pick your nose" then her finger immediately goes back in her nose (and straight from her nose to her mouth)
So I made a sticker chart for Everett after the toy incident last night (toy meets foot = pain). He gets stickers for 1.) dressing himself, 2.)putting his own PJs on (he can, but he gets his daddy to help ALL the time!),3.) picking up toys before bed,4.) helping put his laundry away 5.) No time outs, 6.) not touching his face.
Also I've talked to him about when he wants to touch his face he needs to pat his knees instead. If his nose needs attention he has to use a tissue. WE've talked about germs on his fingers making him sick, but he's not convinced.
