    Default OCD??

I thought it was normal toddler stuff, but now I'm starting to worry that EJ is a little OCD. I'm a very routine oriented person, and Everett is too. He doesn't flex well from the normal routine (including how we exit the vehicle, what order, what door).I kind of consider him the monster I've created.

BUT lately if things don't go his way he wants to start it over again completely. For example: today he left a toy in the car and didnt get it when I asked him about it so we went into the house. 30 minutes later he asked about it and I said he needed to stay with D while I got it b/c it would take too long with both of us. He flipped out so I carried him to the car, got the toy and carried him back into the house. He wanted to walk so for 10 minutes he cried he wanted to put the toy back in the car and do it over again so he could walk there.

Is this normal or is it more OCD than the usual toddler?

I understand flipping out for not getting his way, I'm OK with that, it's the wanting to do it over the way he thinks is right even after the fact that makes me a little nervous.

Jenna does this sort of thing all the time. I'm pretty sure it's normal.

I too have created an OCD monster too...Because Im one myself...Liam too has an order we get into the car, buckled into the car, out of the car, the way we drive to get somewhere...the list goes on and on...Daddy ONLY does certain things with him, Im not allowed to, because its not normal...
He will also want to re-do things so they are done the way he wants them done...

I think its totally normal for children with their type of personality...I do wonder if these type of children only come from mums/dads that are routine/OCD type...Hmmmmm something to look into now!!!!!

Lexi does alot of the same things including having to start over again if she (I) doesn't do it right the first time. I think it's a toddler thing. And Nat I am FAR FAR FAR from OCD so it's definately not an OCD parent thing

thanks girls, I feel better. I sometimes think I need treatment for my OCD issues, but I'm totally functional. There's a door at work that drives me nuts because it doesn't stay all the way open and I can't just walk past it. I push it all the way open everytime I pass through it and I go through it over 20 times in a day lol

Amy- I think it is a PT thing! Most of the PTs I know, including me, are somewhat OCD!
Drew is like this too, so it is nice to hear it sounds like it is a normal toddler thing! He gets mad at DH when DH cleans and the toys don't go in the "correct" bucket!

I am OCD too. I am not a PT, but in the science field, I blame it on that! Stephen is like it sometimes too.
