Thursday surgery.

Everett is getting tubes and adenoids on thursday. I usually tell him what to expect before appointments and it works pretty well. I told him this week the doctor who found woody and buzz in his ears is going to put magical tubes in his ears to make him feel better. I also told him he's going to have to put on a silly gown. Those who've gone through this, what else do i need to prepare him for? I'm not telling him about anything bad, and we aren't broaching the no food subject until he asks on thursday morning.

Good luck with everything...Adam got tubes at 7 mo's...it was quick and mostly painless..he was cranky but okay...his last tube just came out at his well baby check up the begining of the month....they had to pull it out of his ear canal...

We told Stephen the Green doc (his ENT names is dr Greinwald and Stephen calls him the green doc LOL) was going to fix his ears, Stephen would always say they were broken Sad We told him he was going to have to go to sleep for a bit while he fixed them. He has done well both times. They hardest things is not feeding them!!! Good luck, if you have nay other ?s PM me since we have been there twice!!

When Lexi had her tubes put in they put the little sticky heart monitors on. I don't know if this is common practice but I think it would be a good thing to clue him in on if it's going to happen. She was kind of leery of that part. Other than that I think you've done a great job preping him.

thanks girls. . .I'm not sure I'm going to tell him about the sleeping part either because it could open a whole can of bedtime worms. . .story, special toys. . . .etc.

we survived. Everett was hilarious before the surgery after taking the sedative. Imagine a happy/lovey drunk 2 year old. After the surgery he was a mean drunk and it took both DH and I to keep him down. I'm glad it's over
