    Default WWYD- RF Carseats

Ok so Zayne turned around on his 1st birthday. He was 24 pounds and absolutly miserable RFing. Now the new recommendation is out and (although I already knew it was best until 2) now I feel like I should switch him back. I just know that even the 2 minute trip to daycare will be HELL if I turn him back around. I'm kinda torn. What would you do?

Edit- I should note that he is now 27 pounds so way over the origional recommended 20 pounds.

I'm leaving Austin RFing. Part bc of the recommendation and part bc I'm too lazy to turn the seat around. Of course he doesn't mind RFing.

I'd leave him FFacing if you already switched him. Or try it out and see if he doesn't mind going back, but it would be too much of a hassle for me if it's minimal amounts of time in the car.

Could you turn him around for one of the rides to DC just to see if he is still miserable?

I might try that Mari. The short trips don't worry me as much as the long trips. PLUS, I just realized that I need to check the RFing weight restrictions for the seat.

If he has out grown his seat RF I wouldn't buy a new one.

I wouldnt bother changing him back...both Zoe and Liam got turned at 1yr...because they hated rear facing and they got car sick...The both of them used to lift their heads and turn so they could see out the front, they were so unhappy rearfacing...
AND TBH Charlie I will turn too as soon as he starts to look uncomfortable or carsick...

If you've already changed him back I'd keep him that way. RF is more common over here and in mainland europe they RF until over 4 years. It's 500% safer for children to be RFing until 4 years old at least but it isn't an option for many people since cars are not big enough (and for us I would not be able to lift tegan into her seat)

It sounds like you were already aware of the suggestion to wait until 2 but you turned him earlier based on what was best for your family. Since you're already made that decision and he's a horrible RF-er, I'd leave him that way.

TJ is horrible in the car too. He'll most likely be turned before 2 also. I can't safely drive and listen to a screaming child
