    Default Daily THread Feb 6th

Had my PE this weekend. My new doc is actually a long time family friend. I hesitated for years to switch to her because of the relationship with my parents and the fact that our girls go to school together. I finally decided that her being the BEST doc around out weighed anything else.

Good thing I did. Seems I have never had my Vit D tested. At least not in the last few years. She did it. The range of normal is 30-100. I have 13! She wanted me to understand the seriousness of it and pointed out that people who have RICKETS have values starting around 21! Sooooo I am taking a mega does of Vit D once a week for 8 weeks. Um. Not a fun pill. I got sick 8 hours after taking it which means it got into my system which is good. I have also had a headache and I am totally exhausted. I dont know if I can do this for 8 weeks. Maybe rickets are more fun?

So I am working today but my mom took pity on me. and talked me into letting the kids skip school and stay overnight with them since my parents have the day off. This way I could sleep longer and didnt have to do the morning rush with them. It was awesome.

Today Sophia also has another appointment regarding her tics. She now has a little head twitch and a sniffing going on. I am just not loving any of this. She needs more help and this med isnt cutting it. She is doing so well handling it though. She's such a great kid.

Sorry. I will have something fun to say this week. I know it!

Did you eat before taking the vitamin?? I have to eat with vitamins, otherwise I get sick. You need to be well...take them! I hope they can help Sophia...poor thing.

So far, no call, so I guess I WILL be seeing the hand specialist today! I also want to hit Whole Foods and get some organic apples...I have to have the organic, otherwise my throat swells shut. They have the best prices on organics, so off I go!

Nothing much else going on. It's going to be crazy since Scott is in Bermuda all week. I have to make Alyssa suffer and keep trying to get this crazy hairstyle they have to have for their full company dance. Her hair is so fine and has NO body, so it's a real challenge! She hates having her hair pulled, but I keep reminding her that she wanted to compete, so it's part of the process! Hey, I don't like it either, but you do what you've gotta do!

I did take it right after a full dinner. I thought that would do it and it was fine until midnight. My multi vit says it has 400 IU of Vit D for 100% daily allowance. I am taking a prescription Vitamin D that has 50,000 IUs so its a huge difference. I do fine on the usually multi vit so this was surprising. Its only once a week so I guess I will have to suffer it out Saturday and Sunday.

KUP on what the doc says today. Good luck!!

Yikes Sam, glad you had it tested! Good luck with the dose for the next 8 weeks. Glad Sophia is handling it well, she sounds like an amazing kid!
Hope it goes well at the hand specialist today Brandi! Good luck with Alyssa's hair!

Not much going on today. 3 kids this morning playing very well together. Nice and quiet.
I think I caught a flu on Friday night and had it most of the day Saturday too. It sucked. We skipped dance class yesterday morning because we were too swamped with groceries and and skating birthday party. Then I found out the girls missed out on trying on their costumes, wish we would have went!

Wow Sam, nothing like throwing you into a mega dose right away! UGH! I hope it gets better!
Oh Samantha, the costumes are the best part of the whole thing! That stinks you had to miss it!

Well, it's looking like surgery is going to be the only option. :/ I have to have a nerve conduction study done so we have an actual diagnosis, but it looks like I have Cubital Tunnel Syndrome. Basically, the nerve in my elbow that goes into my pinky and ring finger is getting pinched. If I don't have it taken care of, eventually (like years, but still...) I can lose function in those 2 fingers because the nerve will be too damaged. I don't know when I'm going to have this done...not something that's going to be convienent. I may have to look into summer, but I'd like to hold off until the fall. Like I said, it's not convienent losing the use of an arm!!

OH NO! It;s hard enough taking care of kids with 2 arms! Sometimes I want a third. Losing one for a while will suck but it has to be done. Just time it right so you arent tempted to do things you shouldnt do. Make Scott your beck and call boy.

Thanks sucks Brandi! I've had surgery on both my hands and on my right shoulder, but way before I had kids! I can't imagine. Hope you can plan it so you'll have lots of help! How long will you have to rest your arm for?
