It's Birthday Party Season!

So what are your kiddos wanting to do for their birthday party this year? What sort of things are they asking for?

Ry wants an Ipod (which was going to be his big Xmas gift but P really wants to get him one now so there goes my easy Xmas LOL) so we told him he had to keep the party small. He begged and begged and begged for a sleepover party and we finally gave in UGH. So far we have 4 kiddos and 2 more I still have to hear from. It sounds like a lot of kids for a sleepover but 3 of those are family friends so i'm a little more calm about that LOL.

My Mom has gotten Ry another water gun, the new Beyblade arena that's out, a Nerf gun and some clothes. Oh and some Pokemon cards. I told her to go small this year since he was getting the Ipod but that's hard for a Grandma to do Wink

Nicky honestly hasn't asked for one birthday gift. He has lots of anxiety about birthdays, holidays, school vacations, etc., so I think he'd prefer not to think about it. I did manage to get him to commit to a small Pokemon-themed party with three of his close friends. We'll have it in the backyard, and he wants to give each guest a pack of cards so they can play together. We'll serve pizza for lunch and the usual cake and ice cream. Not sure about the gift, still, though. I'm curious about what others are giving. He'd probably like a game for his DS.

Luke's party is Sunday. He opted for a gift from us rather than the huge friend party. We always do the family party but he has a choice on the friend party, party or present. He wanted a TV for his room and I gave in. It has a DVD player built in. We are having a backyard BBQ but he requested shephards pie so I will make that too. A small one for him. His cake is Red Sox themed.

He is getting:

The TV from me and John
gift card to a sports store for baseball equipment from John's sisters
Red Sox tickets from my parents. She has box seats behind home plate for Luke and Daddy!
Nana and my sibs bought Luke a bunch of Skylander figures to go with his Skylander DS game. ML that might be a game to look into. YOu can get the game and some extra figures.

We are also celebrating 3 other birthdays that day: My dad, my brother and my sister. There will more people here than usual so we are praying for nice weather

Oh ML if Nicky doesn`t Skylanders for his DS that is a great option! We have it for the Xbox and the kids LOVE it! Plus its good for upcoming holidays to be able to buy more figures!

Sam - how fun that Luke is getting box seats to a game! How exciting!

We still have a little over a month so I haven't thought too much about it quite yet. We have three July b-days in our house (Michael-19th, Mykenah-27th and Dimitri-28th) so it's nuts. We always combine their party to make it less hassle. I think we will do what we usually do is rent out the picnic shelter next to the pool and then rent the pool privately after we have dinner & cake for some swimming. The kids love it and my house doesn't get messy. Wink The cost for the party is steep so the kids only get one gift from us usually.

Just looked up Skylanders, and it's only available for a Nintendo 3DS. Sad Nicky has a DS Lite, and we don't have Wii or xBox. He says he'd like a DS Pokemon game, so maybe I'll look into that. He also wants one of the new Monster LEGO sets.

Alyssa is rough this year. She decided she wants a party with her friends, so we're going to do it at the dance studio and one of the older girls is going to teach them a dance. She can't get enough dance in her life I guess! Smile As far as what she wants....um, yeah. Last year was easy because she wanted her room re-decorated (which is what we're doing for Connor this year). There's not a whole lot she wants. She's out of toys, and doesn't need clothes. She wants the big girly Lego house, but that's really about it. I wish it was easier!!!!

ML are you sure they are interchangable. Luke has the 3DS but his other games for the DS Lite work on it. Maybe it goes the other way too?

Skylanders only works on the 3DS. We tried (Tyler is addicted), but it doesn't work on his DSi. Sad
