Sam! How was Disney? and a question for you Disney ladies!

I'm still here! And totally LOVING it!!!!! I never had any idea how amazing this whole experience would be...I'm hooked on Disney! I finally understand why all you ladies love it. Two favourite rides so far are Dinosaur and Soarin'. Also loved Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party...they did an amazing fireworks show and a Memories show with pictures on the castle which was amazing! Love Fantasmic too! And Savannah's reaction when she saw Jessie from Toy Story almost made me cry! lol. We're just having so much fun!!!
I did have the worst flight down here though...the kids were good, I was NOT!
We only have 3 days left Sad

Question for you Disney nuts...have any of you joined the Disney Vacation Club???? Why or why not?

We had a great time! The weather was just perfect and that safari we did....OMG is all I have to say! I did get eaten alive by mosquitos because I was too cocky to put on bug spray but WOW! I just got the picture CD and they are so great. I am doing it again next year with Sophia. The food and wine festival was great too. We skipped dinner one night and just ate around the world. Luke tried a lamb slider with tomato chutney and loved it and Sophia fell in love with perogies. And Harry Potter was the best! They did such a great job making the castle and the village and the Forbidden Journey ride was out of this world. Just awesome. We swam, we ate, we met friends. It was a great trip. Now to plan SOphia's trip for next year.

I am so glad I have been able to bring another friend over to the dark side with me. I turned you and one other friend to the Disney side this month. We met them in Epcot and she was amazed.

I am glad you took my advice and did Dinosaur. It's Brandi's favorite. She screams like a little girl I hear. I'm glad you are having so much fun.

I should have joined the club years ago when John and I first married but we didnt. I havent done the math lately on how many years it would be before you break even. We really cant go yearly and it's just a matter of finance. It was a better deal years ago but you can go through the Timeshare Store and pay less than going through DIsney. I also like trying all the resorts and the best use of points is to us them at thee Disney Villas. It's just a matter of preference.

Oh yes, I love the Dinosaur ride...not. If I were to do DVC, I would buy on resale. You'll pay a lot more if you buy directly through Disney! I've gone back and forth with doing it or not. One day we may, but as Sam said, finances haven't allowed us to do it quite yet!

Glad you had such a great trip Sam!!!!

I LOVE the dinosaur ride! I think we're going to go to Animal Kingdom again on Monday (last day Sad ) and we're go on dinosaur again. I got a picture of us on the ride, it's hilarious! The kids look terrified, lol. But they said they liked it too Smile

Oh and an extra HUGE thank you Sam!!!! This vacation wouldn't have been the same without all your help Smile

How do I buy it on resale Brandi????? We met with a club person today and are really considering it and have an appointment again tomorrow at 4:30. Hoping you'll answer this before 10am tomorrow! I won't be able to check again after that.

Your very welcome Sam. I love helping with Disney vacations.

To do a resale you have to go to a site like the timshare store. That is where members are selling through a non Disney site. You can always change your mind and go through Disney if you want after you do some research but I would meet with them again to clarify how it works and then come home and look around. JMO.

I met with the vacation club and they did explain a lot. But then when we looked at resales on the internet that night they are so much cheaper. And I understand that Disney has the 'first right of refusal' and can buy it out from under us if they think it's too cheap. But we're not in that big of a hurry so we'd have time to keep looking.
It's hard to know what to do. So if anybody has any other input about it, I'd love to hear it. Thanks Smile

And Sam, we got 3 fast passes each and they're immediate, so that was nice. And they had a van pick us up at our resort and then drive us to our destination after. And the kids had lots of fun playing in the activity room for over 2 hours! Cause that's how long it took!

I think the Disney cruise is going to be the death of me! So many people I know said they would rather go on the cruise than go to the World because it's that much better!

Really eh? I have no desire to go on a cruise, but I'll be interseted to hear how your cruise goes Brandi. Maybe I'm missing out? Not sure if I could handle it anyway. We went to the Garden Grill for dinner at Disney...and it ever so slowly rotates and just that made me a little naseous.

Oh I love when people come back and they have turned into me and Brandi. It's just too awesome. Now we need to get you to stay in a deluxe hotel. The locations are so great that its hard to go back to moderate.

That's our plan Sam. We want to buy into the vacation club and then the deluxe resorts are more affordable...Shaun has his eye on the Contemporary Resort!
