Hi, ladies. Had a long weekend visiting my parents in Huntsville, helping my mom around the house she's trying to sell. My dad is doing okay, still slow going. We celebrated his 79th birthday with him.
Sad news is that we are having Waldo euthanized (SP?) today. The tumor on his side has grown and is now painful for him, and a back knee is giving him pain as well. He is probably 17 years old, so there is no reason to prolong his current misery.
We told the kids this morning and Ava is devastated. Nicky isn't saying much at all. Hard to know how this will affect him. After school and before piano lessons I'll probably take them to Rita's to get some ice cream and see if it cheers them up any.
I got him in 1997 as a crazy-eyed, freakish, flea-infested, rope-burned Italian Greyhound rescue who wouldn't stand still for fear of being caught or beaten or who knows what. He was probably around 2yo at the time. I fostered him and cleaned him up a little, had him neutered, and then he was adopted. Two months later they had to return him to rescue because he was so looney! So when I fostered him again, I realized passing him from home to home wasn't doing his mental state any favors, so I adopted him myself. The rest is history.
Be thinking of all of us today, please.
Off now to do a lot of errands and prep for classes tomorrow. We go to the vet at 3:30.
Hope you had a nice visit with your parents ML. I'm glad your Dad is doing ok. ((HUGS)) More (((HUGS))) for Waldo. Hope the kids are ok today after school. That must be so tough for all of you.
Busy house this morning. And then when all the big kids leave to go to school, 2 more show up. I can't wait for my afternoon tomorrow, it will be SO quiet. I'm never in my house alone during the day (all daycare kids sleeping) so I'm really looking forward to it.
Took Dylan to the orthodontist yesterday. He did all the molds, pics and x-rays. We go back on October 9th so they can let us know everything they are going to do in great detail.

Oh ML. I am so sad for you all. Rest in peace sweet Waldo. Enjoy Rainbow Bridge. (((hugs))) to all of you.
Samantha, good luck with the ortho stuff! We've been having work done for three years now and it feels like a payment that never goes away. Nice smiles aren't cheap!
Just work, work, work here! It's our busy time so I have been putting in lots of hours. We leave for Disney in almost a month so I'd like to have some souvenir money all saved up. This trip is just Morghan and I to celebrate her 13th birthday. I'm excited to spend a week with just my big girl though I will miss the others like crazy. Cut and color for me tonight!

Thanks, Sam and Kelli.
Sam, keep on thinking about tomorrow afternoon. Aaaaaaaah... GL with the orthodontist. Not fun!
Kelli, I hope you can relax at the salon. I know you and Morghan are so excited!
Thanks for asking, Kelli. Dave and I are back and forth from relieved to very sad. The kids are kind of on a roller coaster, too. Ava will be teary eyed and staring into space but bounce back quickly. She has gone off to sit in the spot where Waldo's pillow was a few times. She's also asked to sit in my lap a lot in the past day, which she hasn't done in a while. Nicky has been a bit manic tonight, but I am chalking that up to Minecraft discussion on the bus coming home today. Ugh. He hasn't spoken about Waldo to me at all today. I appreciate your and everyone's kind thoughts. It helps.
I'm sorry ML I know how hard it is to lose a family pet (((HUGS)))
