Happy November! Hope everyone is recovering nicely from sugar overdose. A kid threw up bright red on Nicky's pants and shoe at school yesterday. UGH. Not my favorite time of year. My two (Cleopatra and the Grim Reaper) did have fun last night, and when they got home, traded in about 1/3 of their candy for some slippers as a Halloween gift, thank goodness.
My dad is doing better and now has his own room (hemorhagic stroke Thurs. night). Should move into an in-patient rehab hospital in a week or two. He's still paralyzed on his right side, but can now feed himself with his left hand. My mom is worn out. My sister has to leave her and go back home today, and I can't get down there until a week from Saturday. They have lots of friends near them, but most are old like themselves (70s).
Hope you all have a wonderful week.
Oh, and to update, just left Waldo at the vet until this evening for subcutaneous fluids, some shot they give to animals in shock, and more blood tests. He didn't eat all weekend and has been throwing up blood today.
(((BIG HUGS))) ML. Glad that you're doing better. Sorry you can't make it down there sooner. Hope Waldo is ok too.
I'm worn out from Halloween! The kids got WAY too much candy. But they had so much fun. I told them we'd go through it tonight and they could trade 1 piece of candy for 5 cents. I don't want them eating too much of it and I REALLY don't want it in the house because I have NO self control and I'm trying to lose weight! Not working out so well since I just had a weekend of birthday parties and now all this Halloween candy.
It's Dakota's birthday on Thursday and I'm so excited to give her present to her! We got her a big dollhouse and Dylan and Savannah are giving her a barbie case full of makeup. She is going to freak out!

Hope you got rid of some candy with the buy-out, Samantha. We let ours trade candy for gifts. This year it was slippers. They each gave up 10 pieces for those. They don't have much candy to begin with, luckily, because they just do a small circuit around our neighborhood to the people we know. I think they are not aware of just how freaking much candy some kids get! I'm with you: I have to get it OUT of the house immediately or I will start eating it.
