Bummer

I just found out my dr will be on vacation when I am 37 weeks. Sad

Here is why I am so concerned.

Most twins deliver between 34 - 38 weeks.

My dr told me she would do a csec at 38 weeks.

I need to make it to 36 weeks to be able to give birth at my hospital and probably avoid NICU.

I had it invisioned I would deliver somewhere between 36 - 38 weeks. This is a two week period of time between July 8th - July 22nd.

My sister only has one week she can take vacation this year (due to her work schedule) which happens to be the first week mentioned above (when I am 36 weeks) and she is taking my mom and dad with her to pay them back for work they have done for her. My parents have warned my sister if I go into labor they will be leaving and coming back home but my husband works swing shift and planned on having my mom help if I go into labor at night but now that option is out.

The second week (when I am 37 weeks) my dr is going to be on vacation. She always comes in for her patients deliveries regardless of if she is on call or not so I never worried about her not being there. I like my dr very much and I am not too fond of the substitutes.

Hugh - I am just frustrated with how things are lining up.

I'm sorry, that's terrible timing for your sister's and Dr's vacations.

Terrible timing on your sister's part, can't really help the doctor's schedule. Overall, it really does stink. Maybe you will go into labor just as the doctor is returning from vacation....

Why will they c/s at 38 weeks? Are you at risk for something and I'm forgetting? (very possible with my brain fogginess lately)

Hugs :bigarmhug:

I am so sorry about all the timing. It really stinks when things work out like that.

I keep telling mine that he has to come now so I am home for Heath's bir Hart work up on the 28th or not until the first. Then I want him here before the 9th so I can be home for Heath's big school interview on the 11th.

According to my dr, twins peak around 38 weeks. At39 weeks they are safer on the outside than the inside. She has decided to go with 38 weeks versus 39 weeks just to be on the safe side and because of my GD.

I'm sorry for all the crappy timing. I'll be hoping you hold out until 38 weeks.

My sis half-joking told me not to deliver until after the Eddie Vedder concert in Portland mid-July. Sure, I'll work on that.
