Chiropractor

Anyone using or planning to see a chiropractor during pregnancy?

I've been to see a local one a couple times this pregnancy. He is not as good as the one I had with my last pregnancy, but then I don't live in a city anymore.

Just curious who else is?

I've heard major praises for chiropractors during pregnancy, but I didn't see one last time because I never had any major body aches until AFTER I gave birth (pushing in an awkward position when my DD got stuck then leaning over to nurse gave me horrible back pain for months). I probably should have gone afterwards but never did. I don't plan on seeing one this time either unless I really need it.

I went the last few weeks with Tessa to get her to turn from breech (and it worked) and then because I liked it so much I went in the last tri with Heath also. I want to go with this one and may have to if he thinks he is going to stay sideways.

I have seen a chiropractor for 9 years since I was in a car accident. I get major back/pelvic pain when I am pregnant, so I am seeing him during pregnancy too, but really I am not sure how much it helps. He adjusts me, but cannot use muscle stimulation in my lower back and pelvis. The changes that occur during pregnancy are just too great I think to be "fixed".

Like you, I have a lot of trouble from an accident in 2003, so I've seen lots of chiropractors. Of course the pain gets worse in pregnancy, grrr. It is so frustrating that they can't adjust the pelvis the same way during pregnancy. I do think the adjustments help though. I wouldn't need them if things would just stay in place!

I agree it is very frustrating! Especially when you feel 90 years old, and like you cannot do anything without hurting! I have really started having problems the last few weeks, and I know it just gets worse as I get bigger. The severe pain started earlier this time around, which I guess is expected since I have two kids already, and I frequently have to pick up the 3 year old. Even doing simple house work sets off the pain.....so a big grrr from me too! Smile

I saw one for years when I was younger, but then I got married and moved. My DH isn't much of a fan of Chiropractors so I never tried to find a good one. There have been a few times that I would have gone to one if I new of a good one in our area.
