Johnny jump up makes me nervous.. return?

I got this for my shower, not something I had registered for. The whole concept of it makes me super nervous. I was surprised by the good reviews, but still just don't feel safe with the whole thing. I am thinking of returning it. Opinions?

My first thought was that if you are not comfortable with it, then you will probably not use it. maybe think about returning it and getting something that you would feel comfortable with. I know a few moms who have really liked the jumper like this that they had. I also received one, but never used it because it would not fit over any of our door frames. I ended up giving it away, so I have no first hand experience with it.

I had this one for dd, and she LOVED it. It was so much fun to watch her play with it!
Like Jenny said though, if you are uncomfortable you probably won't use it. I personally liked the stand with mine, because I knew she wouldn't be able to unhook herself and fall or anything! I really don't think they are dangerous though. Even if they do fall, they are so close to the floor it won't hurt anything.

We have this one http://www.google.com/products/catalog?rlz=1T4SKPT_enUS413US413&q=jumperoo&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=17774791288699830932&sa=X&ei=XRnVTeGjO8KcgQf8reGQDA&ved=0CGAQ8gIwBA&biw=1345&bih=555#

I also had a door way one that we used on vacations, but I don't like them as they get in the way and you have to walk around them.

The jummperoo was awesome all my kids loved it. It is the one thing I can say they all liked and I knew they where safe.

I agree that if you don't feel comfortable with it, you probably won't use it so you might as well take it back for something you will use. We got one as a hand-me-down and my DD wasn't a fan at all. We had a jumperoo that stands alone on the floor as she did like that a bit (she wasn't ever one to do "alone" activities so she might be a bad example).

My kids where hip babies and this was the only place I could put them down without screaming. I kept ours in the computeroom so they where right next to me and I could still work from home. They did not like tummy time or to be in a bouncer on the back so part of why they wanted to be held was so they could be upright and see the world. This was the best for all of us. But yea if I walked away from it and left them in it they where not happy about that.

this is one thing my DH wanted cuz some of our friends told him how much their baby LOVED it..... i don't really like them and we did not register for it - it takes up space in a doorway, and i think about smashed fingers or choking or just whatever.... I'm just not a fan of them, doesn't mean they're not good or whatnot, they're just not for me. If it makes you uncomfortable, return it and get something that you'll be fine with....you don't have to have one.

I agree with the others. ALL baby products are personal preferences. Not many of them are actually needed. If you are uncomfortable and don't want it - return it.

I personally wanted to get one for DD but I had no door frames to put them on. My mothers said this was my favorite thing as a baby so I wanted DD to have it too.

I had one with Andrea and she loved it Smile It was a different brand, but it worked great.

That's why we got the jumperoo type and not the door jam ones. We did not have a door with a frame that would hold it.
