Okay, this is something that has been bugging me throughout my pregnancy. My dad and grandma (my dads mom) don't want to know the sex of the baby! Is this normal? I find it totally dumb and it really irritates me to no end. The luxury of not knowing should be left to the parents! It is my baby not his.
It is extremely difficult to always hide her gender. To me my baby is a girl and her name is AVA. My dad always insists that I call her 'baby'. Plus, I tend to screw up sometimes and refer to her as a 'her'. I feel like him not knowing takes away from my excitement of knowing and it is very hard to share my pregnancy with him. He can't look at my baby registry, the nursery, etc. I always feel restricted when I speak to him.
Am I right to be irritated?
