So I figured my girly would cost me lots of money on clothes and headbands and girlie stuff.. We went to the doctor today for her constipation/fussiness. The doctor gave us Allimentum, a $25 a CAN formula  (oh and we're only talking a 16 oz can, not 25 oz like the "normal" cans). I'm so upset. I want my baby to feel better but we honestly can not afford this. The doctor gave me two trial cans (8 oz each) and said "oh this should last you about a week until we can follow up.." uhhhh... so that means I'll be going through about $25 a week in formula, FOR NOW. I don't even want to think about what will happen when she's bigger. We're right over the cusp of qualifying for WIC with mine and Dh's income. I mean like dollars over. We're giving it a week to see if that helps all her "issues" and if it does we'll go from there. IF it doesn't the doc will likely put her on a medicine for reflux but told me how she'd rather try the expensive formula before trying simple reflux medicine.. eye roll.. it's not HER pocket book paying..
ETA: I don't want someone to take this the wrong way, I'm understand that there are costs associated with having kids, but I'm just getting frustrated with the formula shuffle (we did it with DS and wasted a LOT of money by constantly switching formulas and bottles until we found the right one.) I just get worn out doing this. Of course I would have rather BF'd but it didn't' work out so I go through this whole pity party that BF'ing didn't work.. and the costs associated with having to formula feed. Formula is expensive as it is, but this formula is REALLY expensive..
