So G has had a wet cough off and on since 4 months. He has been to see the doc about it on multiple occasions. The most recent visits the doc heard wheezing that wasn't of much concern, but when I brought him back a week later, she said the wheezing was worse and now he is on albuterol and oral prednisone. He naturally got a script for the liquid pred, and the first dose went in okay, but the second dose didn't even make it past his mouth before he was throwing up. So I called the on call doc on Saturday (who happened to be his doc), and she called in a script forth tablets for me to crush up into food instead. Got 3 doses into him, that wasn't easy, and this morning all he did was drool and gag and cry when I tried to give him the pred this morning. I've put it in applesauce, green beans, rice cereal mixed with green beans, and plain rice cereal (the latter of which produced the drooling, gagging, etc.). I picked up some infant yogurt to try tomorrow morning. I skipped his evening dose tonight because he fell asleep and I was bit about to wake him for it. Any advice on other ways I can try to get this med into him? I don't want to put it in a bottle because he would recognize the bad taste and not eat the bottle.
