So i had my first weekly dr appt today, i sat in the waiting room for an hour and literally saw the dr for maybe 45 seconds! He did the doppler on my belly for maybe 2 seconds, enough time for him to know that there was a heartbeat in my belly but to quick for me to recongize anything.....then he did my swab and i swear he was backing out of the office as he was swabbing me......This is my second appt with him and i have had questions since the first time i saw him that i was hoping to talk to him about but obviously didnt get the opportunity.....i left feeling so frustrated and if i was alone i might have cried! Pregnancy hormoes might have something to do with that one, but its my first baby, i live 2 hours away from the hospital and i have questions that if answered would probably make me feel a whole lot better! Im really kicking myself for not getting a Mid-Wife, im sure i wouldnt be having this problem then......Then i had my pre-admit appt at the maternity ward which turned out to be awesome. The nurse went over everything with me and answered all my questions, even the ones that i had for my OB, of course she told me every dr is different and my dr might decide to go about things differently but gave me a good idea of how things would work, which is better then not having any clue at all.......I have semi private coverage for the room which turns out to be private at this hospital which is a bonus, there is a pull out couch in each room for daddy and birthing tub and the baby gets to stay in the room the entire night, which was a good surprise as most of my friends did not get to keep the baby at night.......she gave me lots of info on breastfeeding and places in my area i can call before and after the baby is born for support......She was really nice and made me feel ALOT better about delivery and answered all my questions and concerns.....my next appt is on tuesday and im dreading driving 2 hours for my 60 second appt......next time i will make sure to get a MW!
