Update On Me

Sorry I have been MIA! Figured I'd post over here, too since I board-hop... Smile

I had actually come on here and typed up an update the other day and then accidently clicked something and went to another page and lost the whole thing... of-course I was too frustrated then to re-type it, lol.

Anywho, I've been SUPER busy! We interviewed and chose our doula and I love her!!! I have my first of two prenatals with her this Thursday where she will get my previous birth histories and then on my next prenatal, we'll write out my birth plan. I'm still aiming for the birthing center birth but my hopes are not set to high b/c insurance is surely giving me the go-around. Beee If it doesn't work out, I'll be having a natural hospital birth and I have an AWESOME doula who has a great reputation with the hospital staff-- they tend to respect her a bit more and she is going to make sure I get the awesome birth experience I want. Smile

I had an appointment the other day-- had the glucose test and I haven't heard back so I'm assuming I passed but I'll call today to make sure today. I'm still really concerned about my baby's size..... When I tell people I'm almost 29 weeks pregnant, they honestly don't believe me-- I'm that small. I barely look pregnant. The staff keeps saying I'm just carrying differently, which may be true, but I just don't see it. My belly measures 33 cm, and I don't see that. How can it be measuring so large but not poking out that far? They are finally concerned enough with the baby's size that they are doing an U/S next week so we'll see then what's going on, hopefully.
Here's my belly:

Alex seems to be doing great though! He moves all the time, he makes my little belly roll, too. The MW did say his head is extremly low-- when she measured me, his head was way down into my pubic area (sorry if TMI). He is constantly head-butting my cervix, which makes me want to sit straight up in my chair. His butt must be on my diaphragm, b/c I can't catch my breath sometimes... and I'm constantly feeling little feet (??) tickle my ribs and little hands (??) punch my hip bones, lol (I'm guessing on these body parts, btw, I know where his head is but I'm guessing on the others). I cannot wait to meet him at this point but I want him to bake, bake, bake! I'm just starting to get a little anxious. Smile Oh! And he constantly has the hiccups, poor baby. I mean, he gets no break between them-- its like "hiccup (one second later) hiccup (one second later) hiccup.....". I've been having quite a few BHs so I guess my body is gearing up but no more irritated contractions-- I hate those! Really been pushing the water and staying off my feet to help prevent those. I lost two lbs. so I've gained 8 lbs. total this pregnancy (but I had some extra fluff to start with). Annnnnd, I think that's it! Smile I hope you ladies are all doing well, thanks for reading my book!!! Smile

I was wondering how you were doing. I know you were concerned a while ago about the possibility of a prolapse cervix. I'm guessing that turned out to not be the issue. Hope you keep baking!

Nope, baby is still very low and I still have the vulvar varicosities but no more contractions since those at 25 weeks. Smile How are you???

Surviving bed rest, but will be really happy when the baby finally comes and I can actually get up and do things again. I am getting really tired of just sitting here all day. The doctors are thinking I will be able to make it another three or four weeks. I'm not looking forward to that.

so glad you are doing well and not really on bedrest Smile

Your belly looks perfectly adorable to me, but I'm glad they will do a u/s to be sure Smile It will be great for you to see what he is up to in there!

Yippeee! - on the doula. I really hope you get the birthing center figured out. I can't understand why they would give you such a hard time. BC would cost the insurance less than a hospital would.

That's my thinking but the insurance is there for the doctors and they will not cover anything that is done under the care of a physician. We have BCBS and they are just really giving me the go-around with everything!

Thanks for the update & glad to hear things are going well! Both of my babies have been head down early on and seem to curl up in there so I've gotten a lot of comments on how small I look for how far I am...must have something to do with that. Anyway, hope things continues positively Biggrin
