What kind of car do you drive? What do you like & dislike about it? Is there something else you'd rather have right now?
I drive a Pontiac 2006 G5. I love everything about it, but...............it only has two doors! It is going be such a pain in butt getting the car seat in and out. I leased the car when I was 21, so I had no need for two doors and I bought the car this summer before I became pregnant. So, I'm not exactly going to get rid of my car when I just bought it!
I have a 2008 Subaru WRX that I love so so much. I've wanted one since FOREVER and my DH bought it for me when I graduated college. Since we're planning on having 3 kids, I'll have to give it up at some point for a bigger SUV but it'll be a sad moment for me!
2009 Ford Explorer. I love the fact it tows (as we have a camper) and I LOVE my 3rd seating AND b/c I'm spoiled I love love my SYNC..
I HATE the 2nd row though with rear facing car seats, as you've all heard But like the others, it wasn't something I had to think about when I bought it, infant seats fit fine and the only car seat I had in the car at the time was a FF'ing seat. But other than that, I love it!
I drive a 2008 nissan rogue, i love how it drives....its a lease that is due next year, which works out great for us...... we wont have much room once we have the baby since we have two big dogs.....so this thread is great, its nice to see what everyone else has and likes or dislikes!
i have a 2008 chevy aveo. It's a small car, but i like it. My Dh has a 2004 chevy malibu hatchback and it's nice cuz it has room and it'll be good for when we have to go up north with the dog and kid.
I have a Ford Taurus - just a nice normal family sedan. I like it because it feels safe and there is plenty of room.
My boss bought a Taurus crossover this past year and I'm really envious. I didn't even know what one was until I saw his. It is basicly a Taurus station wagon with a full third row of seats that can be up for fold down. The third row would not be convenient for everyday use since you have to fold down the 2nd row seat to climb in, but it would be perfect for us when we have those moments where we want to take others in our car and we would have tons of storage space for the rest of the time.
I have an '04 Acura MDX. I love love love it! We got it for a really great price from some friends of my parents in the fall, otherwise I never would have splurged on a car with all the features it has! There is a 3rd row of seats, but we leave it folded down so the dogs go back there. We don't need more then 5 seats now, but it is nice to have the option of 7 in the future. And don't even get me started on heated seats. How did I get through so many winters without them?:D
I have an 07 Escalade.
I love all the luxury features and it rides very nice. The AWD feature is nice in the winter so I don't get stuck in the snow but gas mileage is terrible.
We will now have 7 people in our family (we were only planning 6) but we should all fit - just snuggly. The 2nd row has bucket seats and the 3rd row is a bench.
The one thing I don't really like about it is there is not much storeage room behind the 3rd row. The 3rd row is removable but with our family size we just can't. I should have gotten the extended one with extra storeage space but at the time I didn't know I would need it and I didn't like the way they looked as well.
And don't even get me started on heated seats. How did I get through so many winters without them?:D
OMGosh I know - I have heated seats in my car and they are sooo nice
Jennie: My BIL just got an Escalade - is yours like his where they seating is more like a van than an SUV? I thought that was awesome.
I have a fully-loaded '02 pontiac montanna extended van. i love it but it's getting old and things are starting to break on it constantly. we may be in the market for a new vehicle in a year or so-- it will definately have to be another three rows of seats though.
Right now I have an 08 Nissan Titan... I may love it more than I love DH, LOL! Unfortunately, when we bought it I didn't know I was pregnant with DD3, and now that we're having baby #4 we have to look for something bigger. I refuse to give it up though, I
Currently I drive a Plymouth Town & Country mini-van. It has been great, and even though all the kids technically will still fit, I don't think I can put my son through squishing between carseats on the back bench.
I used to drive a Dodge Durango (It also seated 7, but there was no luggage space...and with a big dog and our love of camping with all the gear it just didn't work). Now we are running into the same problem with the mini-van. So we are beginning to keep our eyes open for a good 3 row van. (seat at least 11) Though my husband would like an extended van with the 4 rows (seat at least 14). The big advantage is that with car-pooling I am currently out of luck. I can only take 2 other kids and next year just 1....my son plays on a soccer team with 3 friends...
Now, in my dream world I'd drive a Ford F150 Quad-cab!
I drive a 1998 Vauxhall Astra. When I got it 2 years ago, it had just 38,000 miles on it! It's definitely not what I would choose if we were in the states (especially as they don't sell Vauxhall in the states!) and buying something for "long term", but it was tough finding an automatic at the "right price"... I was spoiled by our cheap cars at our last base (Japan)--throughout our 4 years there, we bought 3 cars and the *total* cost was $2100!
I just got new tires and it drives great!
I drive a 2003 Honda Pilot. We bought it when our DS was a few months old. I love that it has third row seating that is pretty specious in each row. The third row folds down and right now we have three car seats in the second row. The only thing that in not great is that you have to fold a seat down to get to the third row. Not the most ideal for every day living, but it does make it easy for my two year old to climb into his seat when we put his back there. We never expected to have to use the third row every day. We just really liked that we would have it available for those times when friends were riding with us. I do love it though.
Yes, which makes it a little easier. The two bucket seats in the second row are automatic. You push a button and they fold down, you push the button again and it pops up so you have access to the 3rd row bench seat.
