Anyone else paranoid?

Am I the only one who is insanely paranoid that my tests aren't really getting darker? It was suggested that I go buy an EPT or a FRER, and probably will after work. I was supposed to go in for my first beta today but my Dr is on leave (damn military) and I am waiting for the on-call Dr to pull my chart and call me so I can tell him why I was supposed to do this. All tests are FMU except for the latest $Tree one and I did that just because I am driving myself insane. Please someone tell me to stop....

Stop obsessing!! But I am right there with you. I have taken a test every morning from 14dpo to today at 24dpo. And I can tell you that at first it didn't seem like the line was getting darker at all. It wasn't until this weekend (22dpo) that the line finally got much darker, about the same as the control line. That finally made me feel a lot better. I have peed on some FRERs and those were much darker lines than the ICs, so that made me feel better too. But those tests can vary so much depending on how much water you consumed the day before, the amount of ink in the test, etc. So obsessing is just going to make you worry. I suggest putting the pee sticks down for a few days to let your HCG build up and then take another one.

Mine looked just like yours when I was first pregnant. I thought for sure something was wrong because the line stayed about the same with each day (10 - 14 dpo). The morning of my second beta, 14 DPO, the line was actually lighter than the day before, but my beta results showed my HCG had more than doubled in 48 hours. Try not to put too much stock in the darkness of the line, and if you feel worried, maybe ask your doc for some blood work to ease your mind. Congratulations on your beautiful positive tests!

Thanks guys. As soon as I posted, my amazing Dr (who I had been told is on leave) called me and I am headed in for blood work today and we scheduled my first ultrasound for Tuesday, December 6th.

He also confirmed your comments about the tests and told me to save my money and stop stressing. Wink He knows I am worried about our risk of ectopic being higher because of my recent surgery, but he said worrying won't help, so I am supposed to relax and he will call me later when my first numbers come in.

I am glad that your doctor called you and gave you some reassurance. And that is awesome that you get to see your bean on the 6th!!

Yes, a quantitative blood test is the only truly reliable way to know the amount of hcg in your system! Certain variables can affect how dark a urine test line is so don't worry about it. I'm glad your doctor will be seeing you soon and stop testing!!! Biggrin

So glad your doc called! I have taken at least 10 test over the last week to see if they got darker. I understand your obsession! Hopefully, your blood test can put your mind at ease Smile
