Anyone want to do QOTD?

Wondering if you ladies want to do QOTD to get to know each other a little better. I'll give it a shot and see if there is a response.

How did you and DH or SO meet?

I love QOTD - it really gets to board active I think...

DH and i met at college - he is the cousin of my roomate - they both attended the same school. Turns out we only live one town away from each other atour home towns so it worked out really well. We had both just eneded long term relationships so we were just hooking up and said no strings attached - a year later he confessed his love for me (I had feeling the whole time but wasn't ready to commit so soon after a 6 year relationship)... that was 13.5 years ago!

I met my dh online. We started emailing and continued to email for about 5 months before we decided to meet each other. I decided it was time to see if there was something there or if we were just going to be pen pals. So we met and it went ok. It took some time for us to really decided we wanted to be together. Not too long though. We dated a year, married 8 mo later then 9 mo later got pregnant with ds and here we are 2.5 years married.

Great idea!!! I used to be a firefighter when I was younger and I met DH thru the fire company. The department I ran with had 3 stations in one town and he was the lieutenant at one of them. We were really good friends for a while and for a few years he was my shoulder to cry on when I would date horrible people. He never told me I told you so but would dry my tears and hug me and tell me it would be all right. I had no idea for years that he liked me and finally after a horrible break up he asked me out to dinner. I said yes and its been 12 years together and 8 years married!!! He also took care of my on my 21st birthday and that was when I actually opened my eyes to how sweet, caring and wonderful he was and how lucky I was to have him as such a good friend.

It was amazing to find what I was looking for so hard was right in front of me all this time!! I felt kinda silly!

DH and I met in grade 10! We hit it off right away, but a good friend of mine was interested in him so I backed off. They dated until near the end of grade 12 and we were all friends during that time. Then him and I dated for about 3 months after we graduated, but broke up due to some family stuff I was going through. We stayed friends though. Fast forward 4 years during which time it just always seemed like one or the other of us was dating someone else. Anyways, long story short, we finally started dating and will have been together 10 years this year. We have been married for 6 of those years, and lived together for 8 of them. Wow! Thats a long time!

DH and I meet at church camp. We were both camp counselors and I honestly thought it was just going to be a summer fling. The biggest thing that we had in common was the bad relationships that we had just gotten out of. At the end of the summer he convinced me to give our relationship a shot in the real world and I gave in. Ironically enough we moved in together just 3 months after meeting and lived "in sin" for 4 years before getting married. We have been married for over 9 years now. Certainly not what I thought it would be in the beginning!

DH and I met in the Appalachian Mountain Club. I took a training class to become a volunteer leader for hiking and backpacks and he was one of the volunteer trainers. The class was two evenings and then a weekend retreat. The funny thing was that all of the other trainers and people taking the class were all buzzing about who wanted to date whom and both DH and I thought to ourselves that we didn't realize people were here to meet someone we both thought we were there to learn/train. He did email me quite a bit afterwards, all hiking stuff, so I started wondering if he was interested. It was the fall, so I ended up asking if he was dressing up for Halloween. He ended up inviting himself to a party I was going to and we have been together 11 years now, married for 5.

We were both attending the same grad school, but in different degrees. His roommate was in my program and had a party. I was dating someone at the time but that's when we first met. When I broke up with the guy I was dating, I asked some friends how to meet guys since I was new to the city, and the roommate set us up on an "almost-blind" date.

We started dating in 2000, got married in 2004, had DS in 2008, and #2 is due in 2012, so we apparently like to do things in presidential election years. LOL
