Brown Spotting

Normal? Not?

I called Dr. office because I am a panicker. Of course, I get the BS that the on-call Dr will call me back.

Help me relax.

I have never had this but from what I have read and heard brown spotting is ok. It is just old blood that could be from DTD. As long as you aren't filling a pad an hour with bright red blood you should be fine. But definitely talk to your doctor or nurse.

Although I have had none with this pregnancy, I did have brown/darkish red spotting with my second daughter...It was early, around the time I would've gotten my period...Just old blood like previous poster said...it lasted off and on about a week. Hopefully it is nothing, and as long as it doesn't turn bright red, you should be fine!!

This happened to me with my DD early on in the pregnancy and I was so worried! Everything turned out fine for me and I hope you hear from your Dr. soon with similar results...

Well here it is hours later and I am still having brown spotting. I called and left yet another message for the on-call dr. I cried most of my drive home... it took 3 and half hours today because of the holiday traffic. I walked in the door and have parked myself right here on the couch.

I am just praying everything is ok.

I am sorry that the spotting hasn't stopped. Take it easy and try to relax...if possible. We are thinking about you and praying for you and your little bean.

omg, i am so glad you posted this because I am experiencing the same thing, just a little brown spotting the last couple of days. Sounds like it will pass or just be off and on. I have been reading and it sounds like room is just being made for the emryo to grow, but please let me know what your doctor says because I wasn't thinking it is serious, but this is my first so kinda stressing a little.

I will let you know... I am just so upset that the on call Dr didn't call back. I definitely plan on telling my Dr on Monday that his backup was absolutely worthless.

I literally have come home today from work and parked myself on the couch. I am off work for the next 4 days, so I plan on staying as relaxed as possible. My boys are away visiting their dad so I can actually get away with staying still. My MIL is here visiting and she noticed DH has been basically treating me like a princess and asked what's up. We just changed the topic.

Grr, that doctor should have called you back! Scary! I have also read that light spotting is ok. Have not experienced that myself though. Have you heard anything yet? Did it stop? (((((Hugs))))))))

It did stop, and I am just hoping it stays away.

The on-call Dr still never called back. I plan on letting my Dr know that his on-call backup was just BS. I am only due to see this Dr until our 7 week ultrasound and then I will be released to a regular OB, who I hope has a better back-up in case of issues.

Thanks for all of your good thoughts guys, it means a lot.

That is totally irresponsible of that doc not to call you back. Praying the spotting stays away and you get to talk to your doc soon.
