Contractions! Argh.

So I am timing contractions...there have been a few doozies and they feel pretty real, enough that I had DH write down a bunch of phone numbers in case we need them later tonight. I really don't want to have a baby yet though, I'm not ready and DS is sick and I don't want to have to wake him up or leave him with a neighbor if we have to leave. Plus it is raining, and the middle of the night! Not ideal. Also, nothing is packed. I drank a bunch of water but they are not stopping. Sigh. I want to meet this little guy, but not quite yet! REaallllyyy hoping they peter out.

Still timing. My back has also started to ache during them, which is not encouraging (for someone who doesn't want to be in labor). I know it sounds crazy, but I really would prefer not to have this baby tonight. Even tomorrow would be better!

Uh oh! I hope things die down for you or at least hold off until tomorrow. How far apart are your contractions?

Around 5 minutes! :help1: But actually just started to slow down, closer to 7-8 mins for the last few. I hope they are getting the message I am not up for this tonight.

OK, I'm going to go to bed now and hope I wake up in the morning still pregnant. Wish me luck!

I decided to go to bed and see if they would stop. They slowed and did stop, but now I feel like it could happen anytime. Whew! But now I REALLY need to pack that bag!

Wow, how exciting (and not in a fun way). Hope you got your bag packed. I will put that on my to do list for this weekend I guess. At least make a list of what I want. I hope your son feels better soon and that it stops raining!

Glad things stopped so you didn't have to go before you were ready. Did....you.....get your bag packed? Wink

I did pack my bag yesterday Smile Of course there are the last minute things I need to throw in, but mostly it's packed. It was fun to pick out baby clothes to put in there. Crazy that when I come home from the hospital it will be with a brand new baby!

Still having some fairly intense contractions now and then, but irregularly and spaced apart. Had a midwife appt yesterday, and she said this late in pregnancy it is common to have bouts of contractions at night after a long day, and the best thing to do is drink water and go to bed. She also said I just have to trust my instincts that I will just "know" when they are real labor contractions. She said I am definitely in "the zone" of going into labor, so to call if I have more bouts regular contractions. Anyway, I'm thinking it will be sometime in the next week or two...
