December Chat

Hey, I saw that we started something about a regular chat, but not sure where it went or what the name was? Just a place to check in and say how you are doing. Get to know eachother.

Well, Zofran has done wonders for my MS, but still vomiting sometimes (today almost all over Hy-Vee floor). Feeling better.

Ug, so tired, but working all weekend. How about all of you?

Hey ladies! Busy weekends? I had to work just a little bit this weekend (yesterday fro 7:30 A to 1 P and today just 7:30 to 9). Have all these big plans after work like cleaning up the house and putting away some clothes that won't fit for awhile...thinking a nice long nap sounds better lol.

Yesteday I have my niece's bday party...very fun. I gave in and ate some pizza and paid for it afterwords, MS not just morning lol. Why does my body crave some greesy food when I know I'll throw it up later! grrr

Right now dh and I are hurting for money because I've been so sick and barely getting to work with the min. full-time hours (now 30 h instead of 50 or 60) and dh is out of work and just getting workmanscomp because of injured hand. As of right now he will probably be out for a few more months. Money is tight, and so are my clothes. My mom and sister went and bought a nice selection of maternity clothes for me which will really help. I already got one air of M jeans...anyone else already in Maternity clothes? I feel so bad...had charity. I keep telling mom we will pay them back, at least half but she said she will just give back what we pay for christmas. Great intensions, but I hate handsouts even if we need it.

Alright, going to work.

Don't feel bad Tessa... I am sure your family is happy to help. Last time my Mother in law took me shopping and bought me a whole bunch of maternity clothes and I felt so aweful accepting them... but really she was just so happy to be having her first grandchild she wanted to do it! She had the $ and we didn't.
I feel everyone needs a little help now and again.... don't feel bad.

OMG - I am a little over 10 weeks pregnant!
that first 10 weeks seemed to have flown by (probally b/c of the holidays)! In another 10 weeks I will be having the big U/S and be 1/2 way done...

I keep thinking that I don't have much to prepare since i already have 1 child and have most of what i need...then all of a sudden i freak out thinking we have so much to do before the baby comes... Like think of some names, decide who is going to sleep where? (have new baby and DS share a room or move DS to the spare room downstairs?) clean the house...like a deeeeepppp clean - just not clean enough for a newborn, locate breastpump, locate pack n plays, sanitize, clean...ect...AHHHHHH
then I tell myself i have plenty of time...
I am just an emotional rollercoaster!

I'm home from work today with a monster headache. It started yesterday and I just can't seem to kick it. Hoping it's just hormones and not a sinus infections, ugh!

Jackie, ty. I am very thankful for the help and I hope we show it. Gotta take it when we need it Smile Yeah, totally know what you mean by time fly by. This week I am alread 12 weeks (ish). We have our first real appointment with our doctor tomorrow, so we will find out for sure then. Seems like so much time, but then not much at all. Right now I have such a lack of energy and MS to do much of anything. I am just waiting for that 'nesting' thing to hit lol.

Amanda, yuck I am so sorry you feel so icky. Our immune systems are pretty shot. Are you drinking enough water and such do you think? Hope you are feeling better soon!

So, Monday is here ....can you gals believe we are only two weeks until Christmas! Who has x-mass shopping done? Ha ha...not even close here lol.

Ohhh so excited, we have our first real doctor appointment tomorrow. Should be 12 weeks so should get to listen to a heart beat. We had to push back apponitments for insurance reasons (labs and such need to be after January). I've meet with my doctors nurse a few times now, and spoke with my doctor on the phone, but this is the first face to face. Part of me is scared...so many scary posts on here about sudden MCs. Still feeing MS though, so I am thinking I am still ok.

Jackie, I read in another post that you make income off being a blogger. How does that work? Just sounds interesting Smile

I think I'm done with my shopping. I had a sudden feeling that I had to get an 18" doll for my 6-year-old daughter, and spent several days exploring which doll, which clothes and accessories. Then I decided that she's getting way too much stuff as it is, and she probably doesn't need an 18" doll. Crazy, spastic stuff! The sooner Xmas comes the better!

Tessa - how was your appointment today?

I know what you mean about being nervous about all the M/C's...
I remember that happening on my last birth board when I was pregnant w/ DS...
A few people even took a break from the boards for a few weeks until it settled down b/c it made them so nervous...

Hope your feeling better Amanda! I really hope its not a sinus infection - it stinks to be sick when your pregnant : (

I just finished Christmas shopping today - with the exception of Stocking Stuffers which I should knock out on Saturday. I am almost done w/ wrapping to - going to finsh that Sat. night( after DS is in bed) while sipping hot cocoa, in my Christmas PJ's while watching "It's A Wonderful Life" I do this each year the last Saturday before Christmas - it is my favorite tradition... it is why i kill myself to start shopping in November and finish shopping a week before Christmas... so I can actually ENJOY Christmas Spirit even if just for a little bit : ) :snowman:

Jackie, that sounds like a great way to wrap presents! I am almost done shopping. I get the 23rd off of work and am taking the 22nd as a vacation day, so I plan to wrap those days. But perhaps I will wrap watching some Christmas movies!

Wow all you ladies make me feel like a slacker in the Christmas dept!! I have a few things for DD/DS that I have picked up over the last few months that have been stored away in the depths of our closet, but that is it. I haven't wrapped a thing, or even been shopping in ages. This whole MS/sleepy thing is kicking my butt... I guess I better get on the ball huh?!?!

Carissa, I did almost all shopping (except the stocking stuffers and stuff for my mom) online. That was how I did Christmas with morning sickness.

You ladies have been busy. I for the most part am done Christmas shopping. We decided to buy for just our nieces and nephews. I bought most of my presents from online WAHM's and love all the packages I have been getting in the mail. I did buy DH a compressor for Christmas but because I had to ask about his needs for one he knows Sad But he doesn't know that I am making him two insulated shirts for work so at least there will be a bit of suprise. I am also making some bow holders for my nieces and a personalized door sign for my nephew. I still have a lot to do in the crafty department. I did however get told that Friday is my last shift til the new year so I will have two weeks to finish my gifts. I have some beast of a cold or something though. 3 weeks ago or so I went to the after hours clinic and they swabbed my throat but I assume its ok because have heard nothing back but it still hurts and as of Sunday I have had some serious sinus stuff going on and it doesn't seem to be getting better Sad Have another appointment on friday to talk about U/s and I guess start on bloodwork and all that jazz. Should be fun. Except for having to get up super early ick! Lots more going on but my dog is being a pain so I'm gonna cut this short. Smile Have a great day ladies

Elizabeth, lol hormones getting into your decision making a bit? Smile That is funny. There is a lot of junk out there, and I hate the commercialism of Christmas. IT seems like we are never done. I love every other aspect of xmas though Smile

Jackie, oh lol. That did sound pretty neat. Yeah, I'm a bit jealous too. I should go back and see who that was, sounds interesting.

Grrr I thought yesterday we were going to meet our doctor, but we actually just went over history stuff and did lab work. I guess our official first doctor appointment isn't until Jan. 3rd. I was looking forward to hearing a heartbeat. By then I could be 4 months along LOL. We are really unsure about our due date...was not keeping track of cycles and the last cycle I now don't think was a period. Guess I will have to wait a few more weeks to figure out how far along I am.

That's a long wait, Tessa, isn't it? I have an appointment on the 20th, but I probably won't be far enough along (8 1/2 weeks) to hear a heartbeat, and they won't do an ultrasound because I know when my last period was... Its mostly to order the tests I'll do in January. In the meantime, I have 2 weeks in the States with family (I'm American), and wonder what I will do if something happens (like bleeding) while I'm there...

In Alberta, often they hand you a book about pregnancy and make the first appointment for 12 weeks, with the idea that if anything's going to happen before then, you can give them a call and come in earlier, but there's nothing they can do to prevent it, so no need to come in if everything's fine. Also, if everything is normal and fine, you get only one ultrasound, at about 20 weeks. Of course, if there are any questions at all its not hard to get another ultrasound... I ended up with 3 with my first. The care makes sense from an "evidence-based medicine" point of view, but for an information junkie like me... I would much rather see the doctor all the time and get tons of ultrasounds!!!

Here's the doll I was salivating over before I finally decided I was crazy and stopped myself before buying anything:

So, I told my sister that I was pregnant a few days ago. She called back to day to tell me that SHE IS TOO! She is actually due 5 days before me:) My mom is going to freak when she finds out. Who is she going to visit first:) It will be our 3rd, and my sister and her boyfriends 7th (they have 3 each). I bet when my parents had 2 kids they never thought they would end up with 10 grandkids!

It is really crazy. We planned ours, but my sisters was totally unplanned, in fact, the reason she didnt tell me right away, is they werent sure if they were going to keep it. But she told me that she was so sick (sicker than the others), she just felt like this baby really wanted her to know it was there......she couldnt not do her best for it. Plus, her and her boyfriend want a baby together, this is just really bad timing, with trying to get a business off the ground, and he is still dealing with custody issues, etc. But babies wait for no one!

Anyways, I am totally happy for them...but wow! Craziness!

I'm sorry! I didn't realize there was a second page already when I posted last...lol, did not mean to ignore people.

Jackie, what a wonderful tradition. Sounds yummy too (coco...yumm)

Carissa (by the way I love your name), MS was horrible and it wasn't until I stared feeling better I was able to go out and finish the last few things. I hope you are feeling better or I hope someone gives you a hand! Sad yuck!

Cinn, oh no! That cold sounds aweful. Sounds like a good idea to follow up.

Elizabeth, yeah kind of a long wait, but I guess mostly our fault. For insurance reasons we asked to push things back until after January (so we wouldn't have to pay two deductables). Lol that doll is cute. I'm sure things will be fine when you are here. Just take it easy and take care of yourself. I bet your family knows some good doctors if you have any problems.

Kyla, how fun and exciting is that! That will be great to have someone in the family going through what you are at the same time. My counsin is pregnant right now and I've talked to her more than I have for years recently lol. Sounds like a stickey situation for them, but I'm glad that they are going to keep the baby. Are the due dates around the same time?

Oh weekend is almost here girls. I am off all weekend! PHew! So tired! I have a x-mas on Sunday, but that is it. Looking forward to a quiet weekend.

Yay!!!! Weekend!!!
To me - like the weekend before Christmas is the unofficial start to Christmas...
as I posted previoulsy - I am looking forward ot my wrapping gifts, watching Xmas movie tradition - then baking cookies on Sunday with my son...probally some more Christmas movies...
then we do have a wole week of work but - its Christmas week, so no one really does any work at our office. I work for a financial advisor, people usually arent calling to make trades and stuff a few days before a holiday - so its a slow week for us, think we leave early next Friday also!
I LOVE this time of year - so exciting!!!!

..just wait till you see how depressed I get in January - LOL!!!!!

Jackie, yeah for xmas starting early! We had one family Christmas just yesterday, so started for u too! I had to locate the bathroom right away lol. Better not be too depressed in Jan. You have something also exciting to look forward to!

So...ug, I am so frustrated. I know I've mentioned my dh hurt his hand (crushed under a truck on Nov. 14th/11). Well, he is still off work on workman's comp. His boss said he wouldn't need him back until he had more use of his hand. So, I understand he must be bored and depressed, and I've been super supportive, but I am just getting so irrated with him now. The first few weeks, ok will give him the first month, I knew he was in pain. didn't expect much out of him. Around the same time is when we found out we were pregnant and I've been having aweful MS! So...now though still just a lump. I know he is depressed. He sleeps until afternoon (going to be sometimes around 10:00 P.M. or earlier...12 or 14 hour nights)...or even later. Today I finally sent the dog in after him at 1:30 P.M. No excuse! He said he was up until 4:. Well, why did you do that? I have been so sick and needing so much help. I know he isn't 100%, and he wasn't alway the best help before, but I thought he would do something seeing I am so miserable. I am doing my best to keep he house up, but I have such little energy and I am pulling extra hours trying to make up for my major drop in income.

Just want to give him a big kick in the butt. I'm in charge of everything around here...cleaning, cooking, financial. I don't want to leave him, but if there was some program where a husband had to learn how to live on his own for even a few weeks, I would just right on board.

We've been 'discussing' what is going to happen ater the baby comes. I have always wanted to be home. He says he just doesn't know where we will be financially by that point. Was thinking today though, there is no way I could do all of this is care for a baby. Unless he steps up I refuse to work full-time.

Sorry, thanks for the rant. I am feeling icky today.

Wow, so I woke up and my husband was holding a baby saying "look what I found." Yeah, durning the night I had the baby, even though I felt fine. The sheets were all a mess. So, we got to go ahead and called everyone, which was confusing because everyone thought we were just 3 or 4 months along (including us). I knew last week the doctor should have checked on me! I knew I was further along!

After awhile it came to my attention that my husband was holding a stuffed animal at one point and a 6 month old child at the other. I of course started freaking out because I thought it meant that I had lost my baby and he was trying to cover it up. Then some doctors finally showed up (I was able to go about my day to day business after just having a baby for that day) and they had restraints because they thought I was crazy.

that is when I woke up.

LMAO> weird dream. Anyone else have weird pregnancy dreams yet?

Wow! What a weird, freaky dream! Those can really shake you up!

Last time I was pregnant. I dreamt that I had had a baby boy, and I kept forgetting about it, ie leaving it at home and forgetting to feed it. God that was an awful dream! I hope I don't get any more dreams like that!

OMG - Crazy pregnancy dreams are totally normal! I haven't had any yet.... but during my last pregnancy i had a dream where the baby would reach his/her hand out of my tummy and i could somehow pull it out and play with it and push it back in my tummy (through my skin) so it could finish growing. I had that dream many many times - so weird!!!

Sorry about your DH Tessa. I think what you are feeling is totally normal - he is probally really depressed and maybe if he is on medications for the pain - it might be making it worse? not sure?
I went through prenty of times when I just want to punch my DH for not helping more - during my last pregnancy, takng care of our son now and even now while pregnant and taking care of our son...but then usually a day or so later I stop being as emotional and realize he just doesn't see the NEED for things to be done like i do. He can walk past a pile of laundry for days and it will never cross his mind to do anything with it - meanwhile it drives me nuts! So I have learned to really vocalize what I expect from him, though I pick my battles - if i told him 10 chores to do everyday he would kill me for being such a nag, but to say loke once a day... "Honey - I really need to wash the dishes but I am feeling so drained today- do you think you can do it?" Normally he does it no problem...

Good luck!

OMG!! Its almost here!!!!
I am so excited - there is no way i am doing any work and work today! We are closing early - 2pm, so about 3 hours more of work for me then I am off to pick up my son and go home to DH to watch Christmas movies until Christmas Eve afternoon when we start the festivites!!!
