Hello!!

Quick update......
Zachariah is doing good. We took him to his appointment on Monday and he's 6 lbs 10oz. Still not back to his birth weight, but that's normal right??? It worries me....he also still had jaundice, but the doctor wasn't concerned. I'm trying my hardest to nurse him, but he sleeps so much that its hard to nurse him. He wakes up, I get him latched, he nurses awhile, then falls asleep. I keep trying to wake him but all he seems to wanna do is sleep!! He's getting better though. I've started pumping and feeding him the expressed breastmilk once a day to make sure he's getting something......I don't know if its making a difference.
He has an appointment tomorrow with a pediatric nephrologist (sp?) to do a renal ultrasound. They're checking to make sure there isn't a remnant of his missing kidney, or any blood flow going to the missing kidney. Apparently it can cause blood pressure problems and possibly mess with his good kidney. Hopefully everything is good and he won't need surgery to fix it. I'll update when I know more.
I had my incision checked today and they said its healing well. I go back in 4 weeks for my 6 week check up. I can't wait! I have so many questions for my doctor.....The on call doctor did my c-section and all my after care. He never really discussed anything about my actual surgery with me and everything that went horribly wrong during and afterwards. I just want to clarify some things. On a good note though.....I lost 20lbs!!! I now weigh 7 lbs less then I did before I got pregnant. 3 more pounds and I'll be back to what I weighed before my first pregnancy!!
I'm waiting for my husband to go back to work before I write down my birth story. So I'll be posting that sometime next week. I'll post more baby pics then too. He's such a cutie! I love him so much Biggrin

I'm glad you're feeling better. Yep, totally normal for babies to take a little bit to get back to birth weight. Try not to stress too much about the sleeping vs. nursing thing. He's doing what he needs to do. Sounds like you are doing all the right things. I hope you continue to heal quickly. How are you doing emotionally after what sounds like a traumatic birth? Take care of yourself!

I'm doing better. I learned just the other night from my husband that apparently while I was in surgery, they cut an artery and that's why I lost so much blood and why my blood pressure dropped so drastically afterwards. This is why I want to talk to my doctor so bad, I learned this from my husband, not my doctor!!!I just want answers to my questions and things explained to me why everything went so wrong. Until them, I'll continue to feel violated. I'm working on it though.....
