Horrible backache is making sleep impossible

Hi all! I think picking weeds was a big mistake yesterday. Today my back hurts and there isn't a position that makes it feel better. I am trying ice now, but it's not really helping, any suggestions? I think I will take a tylenol before I go to bed, but I really am trying to not take anything. But look at how much better it looks.

Maybe a warm bath or shower or the heating pad? Your after shot looks great! Did you try the cat stretch? That's on preg.org saying it will alleviate pregnancy back pain. Hope you feel better soon.

Wow! That looks awesome! You did a ton of work. And I am so jealous you can see the ground at your place, let alone pull weeds (but thats another topic:D).

I would suggest trying some heat for your back, or even alternating with the ice. And see if you can talk DH into giving you a gentle back rub. Dont try to get too deep with a back rub tonight though, or it will just make it feel worse Sad Thats about all I can suggest. I just find that heat works best on tight muscles.

Definitely agree- heating pad works for me and back stretches too. Your yard looks awesome

lurker

i've had horrible back pain the majority of this pregnancy and i've seen a chiro for it, so forgive me for offering really weird and possibly unwanted advice. it sounds bizarre, but lay on your back on the ground with your legs supported on something like a chair or a couch (something knee level). it flattens your back out and relieves every muscle of strain. it's the least stressful position in which you can position your back. just lay there and relax - meditate or read. do it a few times a day or once a day for as long as possible, but every day. ice afterwards and stretch a lot, but don't stretch in a way that tilts your pelvis backwards (sticks your stomach and your butt out). that movement shortens your spine and creates the perfect environment for sciatic nerve issues.

beyond all things, stretch. i really hope you feel better in a few days. it really is miserable having a backache while supporting all this weight.
