More constipation whining (TMI)

OMG, this was the worst constipation day ever. Have any of you read Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy? There's a chapter on constipation called "Passing Stonehenge" and that is what it felt like today. I was in the bathroom forever and I was afraid I was never coming out of those situations where I couldn't just give up and say it wasn't happening right then and try again later because it was past the point of no return, but would not go any further and all I could do was sit there (in a fair amount of pain I might add) and hope that it would eventually come out. DH was knocking on the door every few minutes after a while like "Are you OK??" I was in the bathroom for over 30 minutes in this agonizing situation. Sorry, TMI, but it was so traumatic I have to share. I swear, it was like practice for the birth.

Sad That is no fun and I have so been there done that. It is awful!! I have read Belly Laughs too, there are points in there that are spot on lol. I have found that drinking prune juice everyday helps alot. I cut it with apple juice becuase I can't stand the taste, but it sure has helped with bathroom stuff. I hope you find some relief soon!! I can't wait for the day when I can go to the bathroom like a normal person......

A friend of mine suggested probiotics to help with these bathroom issues. I have been taking one every day (along with my prenatal) and I am doing much better this pregnancy than last time for sure. I got them at Whole Foods in the refrigerated section.

Yes! I've been so constipated lately. I think it's partly due to the Zofran so I stopped taking it except for 1-2 days a week and that has helped. I also have found that if I don't sit up straight while "going" (lean forward or to the left/right) it's easier for me. I know it sounds crazy, but whatever works!
