Tested Today...

I got a BFN this morning on one of the internet cheapies. I know I ovulated late and I'm only 11 DPO, but I'm also 9 days late for my period. If you ovulate late does that mean that your period comes late as well? Also, at what point do you usually get a BFP on one of the cheap tests? Do you have to wait until at least 14 DPO for that to happen? It just feels like I should be starting AF sometime soon, but I don't have any symptoms for that at all.

I've gotten a BFP before at 8 and 9 DPO with internet cheapies. Although this time I didn't get a BFP until I was 5 days late with this one. I'm using different tests this time though....
As for the other stuff, I have no clue.

Your luteal phase (the time from when you ovulate to when your period shows up) typically stays the same. Usually give or take a day or so. The "average woman" (whatever that means!) has a 14 day LP. So if you ovulate on CD 10, AF should how on CD24. If you ovulate on CD30 then AF should show on CD44. I tend to have a longer LP (usually about 16 days) so if O was on CD10 then AF would show on CD26.

I hope this makes sense. As for the cheap tests, it just depends on their sensitivity levels but also depends on when the embryo implants and starts producing the hormones. With my first BFP I didn't get a + until 17 DPO and with my second it was at 10dpo. Just depends... I'd say you still have time if AF hasn't shown. If you don't get a BFP or AF in a week or so then I'd go get a blood test done at your dr to see what's going on.

GL and I hope you get your BFP very soon!!

Im really confusd by 11dpo but 9 dates late for AF? that would mean a 2 day luteal phase? IDK if I'm just reading it wrong!! Smile

I ovulate late as well, usually CD 19-21... and I get AF around cd 30/31.. so only like a 10 day luteal most of the time..

It's kind of weird because I'll never have to wait til 14DPO to test unless AF was really late, since AF usually comes by 11/12 dpo for me!

I know I always got AF 10 Days after I ovulated. So if you Oed late then you will probably get AF late as well.

My luteal phase after ovulation stayed pretty much the same (13 days) no matter when I actually ovulated. So, although you are "late" on the calendar, AF isn't actually late until you get to the number of DPO that AF usually arrives.

I had a few hints on ICs for a few days, but didn't get a real clear BFP for this cycle until 12DPO. :goodluck:

Okay, that makes sense. I'm usually a 28 day cycle type of girl. Very regular, but I'm really late this month, plus my temp didn't go up till really late too (indicating ovulation I hope). But no matter what AF should arrive at around 14 or 15 DPO dependent on when I O'd because that's when it usually happens. So that means that I have a few more days to go...hehe. I wish that I had just had a normal cycle this month. It would have been a lot less confusing...
