yikes - I am not ready yet

I had a 36w checkup with my MW today and I have dropped even more than last week. My MW said she thinks I will go early, that most women who drop go within 3 weeks of dropping. Um, I dropped sometime before last Tuesday. I am NOT ready for this baby to come in the next 2 weeks. I want to get my time off from work before the baby comes and that starts on July 2. Please baby, hang in there, Mommy wants to get lots of stuff done before you come.

Oh man, I can understand your concern! I hope you make it longer than 38 weeks for your sake. Still, I guess it's best to have a wake-up call so you can start getting things ready, instead of having a surprise and not being ready yet. Smile

Me neither! and I have my C-section date a week from today... and I have been off (I was fired) since March 31st! technically everything needed is in order - but I just don't feel as ready as i was for baby #1!

Hope your little one can hold on a little longer so you can get ready!

Well if it makes you feel any better I dropped like 3 weeks ago and have been dilated forever, and still no baby. So maybe you still have time Wink I hope you are able to get everything done before your little one decides to make a debut Smile

Uh oh! I hope the baby stays in there until you are ready. I know how you feel though...I'm not ready either, although my bouts of regular contractions lately have made me start to get myself ready because the baby is coming when he decides to come, ready or not. I dropped around 35-36 weeks and I'm still pregnant too, but not sure how long this kid can possibly stay in there...if he gets any lower, he's going to just fall out.

I totally feel this way too! I even told my OB last visit that I was sure I was going to be the first woman to ever just have her baby fall out while walking lol. I can't even sit with with my legs together because her head is so low. Not to mention the extreme pressure Gah! I guess the good news is they have not as far to go if they were not engaged right? I am thinking positives to having a bowling ball permantly between my thighs Wink

I know the feeling- I am really not ready. We don't even have a car seat yet, bags are not even ready to be packed, seems like I actually don't have much at all done. I need to get working on all this stuff!

YES! I keep thinking I don't even need any contractions, I could probably just push a little and the baby would come sliding right out. If only it were really that easy, but I seriously feel like that. My belly is sitting on top of my thighs when I sit down, and I can't walk normally because of the pressure. Yeah, I agree that hopefully this will all be worth it when it comes time for the birth...that things will go quicker and easier since the baby is already practically falling out.
