Thread: Appointments...does your spouse/significant other attend?

I have my ultrasound next Thursday and my husband has to be out of town. It's not a big deal to me. I hope/assume all will be well and, if not, I'll be fine. My sister can't believe I didn't reschedule the appointment.

How does your family work with appointments?

I let DH and my mom know when they are and if they can make it, cool, if not it doesn't bother me, especially the regular OB appointments. Other than hearing the hb, it's pretty uneventful for anyone other than me.

The ultrasounds are important to have DH there for though. I think those moments are really special.

Phillip doesn't attend my appointments. He texts me afterward to get an update. The only appointments he attends are ultrasounds because after two losses, he doens't want me alone if they find something wrong.

it depends on what time the appt is. if it's at a later time, DH stays home with DS. Otherwise he comes with me.

My husband came with me to the first appointment so he could hear the heartbeat and will come with me to the ultrasound appointment. Other than that it is rather uneventful so I just go and call him afterwards to tell him what the doctor said.

He is going with me to the big u/s. He has always done so. Otherwise, I go alone.

My husband does if he has the day off. He will be going to the Ultrasound. I usually tell him about the appointment when I come home and he is on lunch break.

With my previous pregnancies dh came to a some of the appointments - he was self employed and he could arrange his schedule to come. This time it's more of a hassle to come so he hasn't been to any appointments. He is planning to be at the ultrasound though.

Only the big u/s. otherwise, it's so dull I wish I didn't even have to go!

My husband came to the first, to meet the doctor, and he'll be there for the ultrasound (so soon, yay!) but the regular appts are mainly just a long wait for a 5 minute chat so he doesn't come to those.
