Nausea has hit this week. No puking yet but it is coming, I almost want too today. I so want relief. Anybody have some magical remedies to help me? I am not sure I am becoming a wimp. I have been sick with both of my pregnancies.

I feel it coming, too. Every week my stomach feels more queasy and I am so not looking forward to increased morning/all day sickness. I remember with my DD I thought sucking on those Preggie Pop Drops worked a little bit. But, I'm not sure that those drops worked any better than let's say a sour jolly rancher. Also, I noticed I got sicker the hungrier I was. So, I did my best to eat smaller things more often than big meals. In the end, when it was too much to take and I had to get some work done I took Zofran.

I find that sucking on lifesavers works just as well as the special pops and candies. Also, minty gum settles my tummy. And sometimes something really strong, like salt and vinegar chips. The vinegar seems to calm my tummy or something.

But all of that only helps me if I'm just a little sick. My first pregnancy I was on phenergan the whole time. I sucked it up the second time but I never got of bed! I just had Tori and she was 19months old, so we just laid in bed together and read books and watched tv. This time, I don't have time to be sick so I opted for the Zofran. It's really helping.

Thanks ladies I noticed something salty works. If I don't wait too long to eat I may be okay. I had declitin (Sp?) for both and may need it soon.

Morning sickness can be related to low blood sugar, so eating small snacks every 2 hours should help. Also avoid a lot of sugar at once like a cookie or snack cake and caffeine, as that can really affect your blood sugar. Also keeping a snack like crackers next to your bed and having a snack when you first wake up can help. Ginger is supposed to help. You can try ginger ale or hot ginger tea, or ginger candy.

preggie pops and salt helped me.

Mine is subsiding now, but there were days were I just sucked on a pickle or potato chip for the salt.

I suck on peppermint candies. Also, I find that water for whatever reason can exacerbate the nausea so I will drink iced tea or lemonade when I'm out and about and can't lay down. I couldn't drink anything carbonated at all when pregnant before. Last pregnancy, I ended up on Zofran after I had to have IV fluids. I tried Phenegran the pregnancy before that, but it knocked me out. I mean, in the middle of dinner at the in-laws I was snoring.

I'm going to prescribe to the smaller meals with protein rich snacks. So far my nausea isn't as bad as the previous pregnancies but I'm not on progesterone this time around.

Has anyone tried the sea-bands yet?

Not sea bands, but I've used a different type of motion sick band and it helps a little especially when I'm laying in bed and the room spins.
