my feet are a little swollen tonight i guess it has started. At least I made it 3 weeks longer then i did with DS. anyone else swelling yet?
Not much swelling here, just my hands a little bit but still could wear my ring.
Swelling may be reduced by eating foods that are high in potassium, such as bananas, and by avoiding caffeine. Here are some other helpful hints to manage swelling during your pregnancy
I am, but I have found it is totally related to the amount (or lack of) exercise I do. SInce I sit at a desk all day, my legs are down or crossed. If I don't take the time for at least a 30 minute stroll, I am all puffy come the end of the day. But if I take that break, it helps immensely
i'm stuck at my desk all day too
There are muscles in your calves that help to pump blood up from your feet. It is called the soleus. If you spend a lot of time sitting, you may need to exercise them to get the circulation going and get the water out of your feet. Try knee bends (like squats, but only halfway down). You can hold onto the back of a chair for balance. Those will stretch the muscle. You can strengthen the muscle while sitting at your desk. Put both feet flat on the floor, then raise one heel at a time as far as you can without raising the balls of your feet or your toes off the ground. Try these two exercises as much as you are able, and I bet it will help. Also, your legs should be at 90 degrees, so if your chair is too high, you might need to put a box under your feet to keep them elevated. And don't spend too long at your desk without getting up to exercise. Maybe once an hour you can get up out of the chair and try the knee bends. (Pretty soon, you'll be taking a stroll to the bathroom once an hour, too.) HTH.
I'm sorry you guys are having swelling. I didn't have swelling with my last pregnancy and am hoping I don't this time either. I work more this time at a desk, so I'll have to be more careful and be sure to plan to get up at least once an hour this time around.
