    Default It figures...

It figures that at our staff meeting today my coworkers would agree that they would want to do a pub crawl instead of a Christmas party on 12/21. I really wanted to wait until after my appointment on 12/31 to tell anyone including my boss and coworkers. How can I possibly hide not drinking on a pub crawl? Gees...I'm typically the first person ready for this sort of thing!

Is there anyway you can say you have to drive to the starting point or home at the end?

We are having our Christmas Do in a pub on Friday. I said that I'd drive because I don't want to get the train home. It does mean that a couple of the girls have asked me to give them a lift, but that's not a problem.

Ha! I don't think I'd make a great designated driver since I can't stay awake past 9:30 these days I'm thinking of going at the beginning, drinking a non-alcoholic drink that looks alcoholic, and then ducking out early with some excuse.

I've already said I'm leaving by 10.30, like you I'm normally asleep by 9.30 but I couldn't leave that early and get away with it. My boss is leaving at the same time because her driver is pregnant so I can escape!

Sprite or tonic water with a lime in a cocktail glass. Others will be drunk and won't notice you are not

Good idea! That should work with my coworkers since we haven't been out together much--they don't know that I have a beer preference. We went out with some close friends a few weeks ago and I tried drinking "vodka" lemonade and my good friend said to me when no one else is listening, "You have to be pregnant--you can't fool me with your lemonade." LOL!
