Default Kinds of Clothes for a Summer Baby

We went shopping today for some clothes for the baby and we were confused on what to buy. We had a winter baby before and it seemed so much easier--long sleeves all the way! We're in Wisconsin and it does get pretty warm in July, August, and into September. So, we picked up some one cute short-sleeved outfits in newborn and some light cotton long-sleeved sleepers in newborn and 3 months. I figure we often have the air conditioning on...

What are you guys picking up?

I live in florida, so its a little different for me, but we had DS in the summer too (August).

For newborn, 0-3 months....mostly pajama like clothes and onesies until 6 months or so. I'm planning the same for this one and just mixing it up with a few sundresses and the 'onesie' type little outfits.

Babies have a really hard time regulating their body temperature, so you should always dress them the way you would dress. If you are hot in a long sleeve shirt, then they will be hot in it too. It drives me nuts when I see a mom in a tank top in the middle of summer carrying around a baby that's all bundled up. I think the clothes you picked (onesies for daytime and long sleeve sleepers at night with the A/C on) are perfect. I would probably add a sun hat and socks (love the ankle socks, because they actually stay on!) because otherwise they are not going to tolerate socks and hats come winter.

because summers are horrible here, we spend most of the time inside (kind of winter in reverse), so DS was in the air conditioning more than the sun.

I agree with Deb - dress them in a way you would be comfortable according to the temp.
