My little man is here!! He gave us a pretty wild ride and was born 5 minutes after we got to the hospital. A word from the wise.... Don't get your membranes swept when you live 1.5 hours from the hospital!

I am now 10 days post partum. At 3 days post partum I prolapsed my uterus at home. I'm not sure how much of it prolapsed but it was outside my body by a good 4 inches. I reduced it myself and called ob triage. They said all they could do was reduce it, which I had already done, but they were happy to see me if I wanted to come in. Being that it was 10pm and an 1.5 drive I opted to stay home. Since then its been lots of bedrest and no lifting. The last two days I have been a bit more active and bleeding more. I will get a gush of bright red blood that completely floods an overnight pad. I think partly that is because its so sudden the pad doesn't absorb it in time. Then I will have no more bleeding at all for maybe 8 hours. After my last two babies it was a slow all day trickle and spotting. I haven't flooded two pads in two consecutive hours, which is what they told me to watch for. It's more like I will flood 1 pad with bright red blood and then have no more bleeding at all for 8-10 hours. Has anyone else experienced this?

I haven't had that issue, but my midwife told me if I started bleeding heavily to massage my uterus until it was firm and below the navel.Have you tried that?

I can't find my uterus anymore. A few days ago it was a firm lump, but now I just feel my soft post partum belly.

I've never heard of that before.

I talked to the pediatrician today when I brought Patrick in for his 2 week check up. He has gained a whole pound in 7 days! He thought it sounded like more bleeding than typical, but not enough to be too concerned. I agree with that. He checked my hgb on a finger stick and it was 13.5. I started the pregnancy at 15.5, so it's dropped a bit but still in the normal range!
