MFM appt

Had my appt. with the Maternal Fetal Medicine dr. yesterday 22weeks and 1day

The boys looked great Smile NO signs of Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (yay!!)

They measured them from head to toe, everything looks great and right on time, hearts look wonderful.

Still 2 very active little boys in there (and they are not afraid to show off the goods either) lol

Kayden is baby A he is head down on my right, he had the hiccups, and heartbeat of 136 and weighs 1 pound

Caleb is baby B he is breech on my left, he was sucking his thumb, and heartbeat of 142 and also weighs 1 pound

I go back again in 2 weeks for another u/s/visit

OB appt. next week for another u/s and good thing about having twins is lots of Dr. appts and lots of ultrasounds

Yahoo for a great appointment!

Good news about Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome, but I don't know what that is. Also, how do they know baby A from baby B between appointments? Wink

How are you feeling these days?

Sounds like a great appointment! Must be great to be able to see them so often.

they can tell them apart by the position they are in. Baby A is lying more towards my right and baby B is lying more towards my left.

Twin to Twin Transfusion syndrome is monitored for my mono/di twins to make sure that one baby is not "stealing" all the nutrients from the other baby.
They make sure the babys measure the same and weight the same and they look at the amniotic fluid around both babies to make sure it also is the same

I'm feeling ok these days, can't say great.....I can't sleep at night cause I'm uncomfortable and I can't walk long distances because I feel like my pelvis is breaking.

I know there have been a few other people post about both these issues

Like I told the dr. yesterday, I feel alot better because I can feel the boys kick and move around so that is very reassuring to me.
I'm just a little bit of a worry wort this time around, Alot of it has to do with losing our other set of twins, but so far everything is going great and I feel very blessed Smile

One thing I never realized about having twins is how much there is to worry about! I went into this pregnancy thinking I had it all figured out - I've had two other children and everything went great and had good birth experiences. Then we find out it's twins and it's like there's a whole other world of things to think about. I keep reminding myself that I know plenty of twins that are born and end up being fine. I'm looking forward to my next ultrasound on April 1st just to reconfirm that everything is ok.
So - I'm glad your twins are looking good! It sure is a huge relief, isn't it?!

I have been told that a body pillow can help with sleeping. Also, if you can put a thin pillow or folded blanket between your knees to keep your legs parallel, it helps. I had tried a pillow, but apparently it was too thick and was making my hips hurt worse. Now, I am using a folded child-size quilt, and it is the perfect size/thickness. I also read that a memory foam mattress topper can help, but those are expensive, and I am wary about spending the money if I don't know it will work.
