Names

How is everyone doing on the name front? We're in the midst of whittling down our lists - such hard work!

For a girl, I'm getting kind of attached to the name Calla (like the lily) but Brian isn't sure. We both love Sophie, but it is super popular!

For a boy, maybe Jonah, Davin, or Lincoln? We are both feeling like this is a girl at the moment, so it is a little harder to think of boy names.

We've got a long way to go, hope the name game is going a little more smoothly for you guys!

We're set on Emily Therese, for my mother (Therese Emily).

If you like Sophie but want something a little less popular, how about Sadie or Charlotte or Chloe or Cecelia/Celia? Rose is a pretty name that you hardly every hear. I see you have a daughter named Nora. That was one of the names we had picked out for our first two had they been girls. We were considering Anastasia or Zoe for our third.

I like Jonah for a boy. What do you think of the name Sawyer?

Or how about Ella? It sounds similar to Calla but more traditional. Of course, I have no idea how popular the name is right now.

Love Ella, but we have a niece Ellie so it is out. We have so many nieces and nephews, it can make it difficult! Sadie and Charlotte are both on the long list, and Celia got knocked off because we used Celeste as a middle.

I know it is irrational and I have known some lovely boys named Sawyer, but I really hated our middle school production of Tom Sawyer and it ruined the name for me! Heh. I am an insane pregnant woman, I know.

Emily Therese is lovely!

i think Sawyer is cute. We probably won't have a name for sure until she is born, but i think right now Alison is our top name

We're good on the name front. We're set on Maxwell (Max)--we even ordered letters for his room. I hear you though--names can be so hard! Before we found out we were having a boy we tried coming up with girl names and had such a hard time. We used the only girl name we liked (Riley) on our 2 year old daughter. So, we were happy about having a boy since we really love the name Max and were only lukewarm about potential girl names.

In any case, I love the name Calla! Good luck on your name journey!

I like Calla - it's different and has a nice sound to it. Sophie is nice too - just depends how picky you are about the popularity of a name. Personally, I don't worry so much about the 'national rating'. If I know a few people that have used the name I'm less likely to want to use it though.
I like Davin - never heard that before. Jonah is just too connected to 'the whale' for me...but it is a nice name.

For our twins, we're pretty set on the girl name: Kate Marie. Boy names we're considering are Caleb Morgan and Austin Blake. I'd decided I didn't want to try to do 'matchy' names - just something that sounds good together. Then dh came up with Caleb - and it does sound kind of matchy with Kate but I like that they start with different letters. Especially since the middle names both start with M.
