Thread: PCOS? Thyroid issues?

Since our son was a wonderful suprise, this is my first time trying.

I have had PCOS since I was young and I know that can affect fertility. Are there any homeopathic ideas to try? How would I know if this is going to be a strong effect on our fertility process?

I am also very borderline insulin resistant and on metformin. I told my doctor we were starting to try to concieve and he wants me to stay on the metformin (altough I don't medically need it as much anymore) because it can help PCOS with concieving.

Any advice?

I got pregnant with Robbie just from the metformin. I have had PCOS since I was 16. If you are overweight (such a common part of pcos) then try to lose some weight. My RE told me that your BMI can really affect fertility.

16 here for me too. I've been slowly losing weight, so we'll just see

I hate the side effects of metformin BTW

Good for you for losing weight! I am trying but it is so hard. I eat pretty healthy. I have never had side effects from the met, I have heard taking it with cheese helps some people.

It was almost a relief when i was diagnosed with thyroid issues and the slight insulin resistance because now I knew I wasn't going crazy. It's always been so hard losing weight and I eat a 90% healthy diet and exercise. The metformin seems to make the weight loss easier and my endrocrinologist said it will help.
