Stocking Up?

Anyone else starting or going to stock up before the baby comes?

I like spreading the cost out and making use of coupons and sales as they come up, so I'm stocking up on diapers, ziploc bags (breast milk & baby food), and wipes.

I'm curious if there is anything else anyone can think of that would be good to look out for and stock up on early.

My list for diapers is (I cloth at home, but this LO will be in daycare, so I'll need diapers as well)

NB = 1 big box
Size 1 = 2 big boxes
Size 2 = 3 big boxes
Size 3 = 5 big boxes
Size 4 = 5 big boxes

30 containers of wipes

i think those are pretty much the basics. I am a planner too and am starting to think about stocking up. However, I am still undecided if I am going to CD this time or not. I think I am going to talk to my SIL because my biggest thing right now is hiding the smell. Of course i could always stock up on nb diapers. I need to get a bunch of bags for bm as I plan to store some this time. Didn't do that at all with DS.

I cloth diapered part time with DS. I used mostly bum genius, which don't fit until 3 months or so. I didn't find the smell bad. I washed every other day using oxy clean and regular detergent. I kept the dirty ones in a laundry bag pulled closed in the laundry room. Now the bag does smell when open (oddly enough more from pee than poop), but never had too big of an issue.

I'll be using the same clothes diapers this time and maybe buying 2 - 3 more.

BG were actually the main ones i was looking at. I guess i could keep them in the basement. if the bag is closed with no smell that is fine, i was just worried about stinking up the room

I'm hoping to stock up on diapers and wipes. Last time I found great deals on Amazon and didn't have to buy any for about a year after she was born.

I probably wont be stocking up. We are moving again in the next month or two, so I dont want to add more to the move.

I'm going to start buying diapers at 20 weeks. And wipes.ike you said, watching for sales and stuff. I'm "stocking up" on freezer recipes and in May I will start cooking them. Our summers are very hectic anyway because both kids do swim team which means practice every morning and meets 2-3 nights a week. Last year we ate too much fast food. It was really bad. So adding a baby to that, it's either eat out or freezer meals!

I wouldn't stock up on diapers beyond size 2. Baby won't be in size 4/5 for another couple years. You would be better off stocking up on multiple boxes of size 1 and 2 diapers. If baby is going to be in daycare full-time, you are going to go through a lot of disposables. Five diapers a day is 25 per week, which is 100 per month. Baby will be in size 1 for several months, then size 2 for probably a half year or more. At least, that's as well as I can remember. It's been a few years.

I've heard about deals on Amazon. Is it through Amazon moms or just the site?

Target has a great promo going on right now. I bought $180 in diapers, got $50 in Target gift cards and used $15 in coupons!
2 - Value Pack
4 - big boxes
2 - jumbo packs of pullups
2 - boxes of wipes

A couple years ago there were some great deals by combining Amazon mom, subscribe & save, and coupon codes that were in parenting magazines. The deals haven't been as good lately but I've gotten some decent deals on Luvs. I just watch blogs like moneysavingmom.com and savingcentswithsense.net

I saw Target was having some deals. I think I might go stock up on some diapers since they are our favorite currently for our DD. I probably won't get more than a few smaller packs of newborn and then get some 1s and 2s. I anticipate this baby having the same sensitive skin as our DD so I am going to look for coupons and start looking for deals on the Huggies Natural baby wipes.

I have a stockpile of diapers but need more size 1 and 2. My daughter stayed in newborn for months and finally made it into size 2 before she was a year old. She's long and lean so unlike her mommy lol. Target allows you to stack coupons. You can use a manufacturers coupon and a target coupon on one product. So you can double your savings. I love to stack the coupons when they have diapers on sale because I buy the smaller bags sometimes for a few dollars.
