Thread: Stomach bug or morning sickness?

I can't tell if I'm just hitting the peak of the misery or if I finally got the bug everyone around me has already had. How do you tell the difference?

It's a stomach bug if you get very sick for 1-2 days, (i.e. nausea vomiting, diahrrhea, dry heaves) and then it resolves. It's morning sickness if its less severe but lasts for weeks. Does that help?

I agree with what Carolyn said. But if you are in the beginning stages of either one, I don't know how you would tell the difference. I hope it is just a bug for you.

I've been throwing up for a few weeks. But not like this. This was violent. Now I'm still running for the toilet but not to puke. Hitting on diarrhea now. Fun stuff, ugh... Pounding headache. Everything is spinning. I think it's a bug. There's no way This is regular pregnancy stuff. I couldn't even sit up for most of the day.

I caught a bug over the weekend. I've had m/s for 16 weeks now and I knew as soon as it started it was different. I couldn't even keep liquids down and it was constant. M/S makes me feel like crap, until I throw up then Im good. The bug was just constant heaving and throwing up. Totally not fun. Hope you feel better soon! Mine lasted 24 hrs on the nose.

Oh my, that does sound bad. Maybe you did catch a bug.

Stupid viruses must be going around because I caught one from DS and could not stop puking/diarrhea friday night. I was really worried about the baby because i kept throwing up water as soon as I drank it. And I agree, a bug should be 24 hours as mine is gone now.
