    Default Waiting to O

Let's get this party started! I know there must be people here in lurkdom.

I just ordered an obscene amount of OPK & HCG strips so I can test for O twice a day and start POAS at 3 DPO, etc.

So I am new to "trying", what are OPK & HCG strips?

I haven't been taking my temp, but doing a calculation based on my cycle to predict ovulation. My doctor said to start having sex up to 3 days before to increase chances.

We will see what happens, but hoping to be on a summer 2013 board

Yayyyy, glad to have you here!

Many women use OPK (ovulation test) and HCG (pregnancy test) strips that they purchase from the internet (commonly known as internet cheapies or ICs) because we like to POAS (pee on a stick!) They are literally several cents each whereas you can spend 1000% more than that on ones in stores and they are nearly as reliable (sometimes not as sensitive.)

The OPKs can give you a heads up as to when O is coming, whereas your temps can only tell you whether or not you are Oing. You can also use other methods to tell when O is near. I would highly recommend reading Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It's really informative. Hope you get your BFP easily!

I guess I am here, O should be next Thursday so I will start peeing on OPK's around Monday or Tuesday because they are generally completly clear until the Wednesday. Hopefully this month is it, I really wanted a June baby because school cut off is June 30 here, so If I have a lovely co operative baby who comes two weeks early we will still make the cutoff. I can't temp accurately because my DS doesn't sleep through, he's getting better but is still not consistent enough for me to get accurate readings.

I ordered a bunch for this cycle too. I'm not going to chart this month because it is driving me nuts. Plan for this month...OPKs and lots and lots of BDing. If we are not successful this month I am meeting with the doctor for testing. Hopefully this month will be it!

Sounds like a plan, Katey! I know my sleep is not as good when I temp because I'm constantly waking up thinking it's time, but I'd also go insane if I didn't know I O'd for sure since I do have annov. cycles.

May I ask what cycle you're on? I hope this is it for you...fingers crossed!

Wendy, I vaguely recognize your name but I think it's from further back before last month. This is cycle 8 for me...have you been trying for awhile too?

Last month I decided to get really serious and drove my husband crazy obsessing. This month I'm trying to relax quite a bit more and focus on healthy lifestyle, etc.

This is month five for me, i'm getting discouraged, but I was also very lucky that DS was a first try baby so it's making this whole process feel so much longer. I already had to hold off longer than I wanted for age gaps between babies so I didn't have to fight as much for what I want. I've been in and out of boards, don't feel I should get invested anywhere until I get a bfp though, so I try to hang out more on DS's board.

I totally understand that. I'd probably hang on my kids boards but they don't exist any longer!

So....I'm a guinea pig this month!!!

Last month, I was taking no supplemental herbs and eating nothing intentionally specific in the realm of TTC but this month I am doing a bunch at once. I am really hopeful it'll help me grow & catch a strong egg, but just most importantly, I hope it helps rather than hinders my cycle. Turns out Soy Isoflavones are a natural Clomid for some but for others, actually prolong the cycle. I am taking a very low dose which may even do nothing. If I do end up pregnant, I won't know what to attribute it to, that's for sure

Haha, that would suck. I am doing the same as what I did for DS and it's not working. I have almost fully gone to decaf, some days though i just need that bit of caffiene.Hopefully my going out today to buy some coloured jeans will mean I get pregnant because then I will be too fat to wear them.

I was just lookig at a calendar and went oh no I have miswed O, thankfully my brain caught up and realised I was counting a week ahead
