weight gain?

I started this pregnancy while losing weight. I was still overweight, 214 or so, I'm at 216 right now and hoping to not gain much this trimester, maybe 5lbs or so. Is that unreasonable as long as I am not restricting my diet?

I know people who were about that weight who managed to lose the entire pregnancy so I do t think five pounds is unreasonable,at all. I lost about five pounds the first two weeks and have only gained one back. My body is messed up. I usually weigh less after having baby than my starting weight. But then I start nursing and gain like crazy. No idea why. Sigh.

I didn't gain much with my son till the end and I was heavier with him. I was looking forward to the weight loss from breastfeeding, but that didn't happen for me, but when I stopped breastfeeding I lost 10 lbs in a few weeks. Go figure?

I lose weight when I stop BFing too. My appetite is too huge to lose during that time I think.

I don't think 5 lbs sounds unreasonable but I wouldn't kill yourself over weight either. Just make smart decisions with eating and whatnot and your body will do what it needs to. If it makes anyone feel better, I've already put on about 14 lbs at 21 weeks because my body just looooves to pack it on when I'm preggo (grrr!).

i don't think it is unreasonable. i think the most weight gain is supposed to be at the end anyways.

I gained a ridiculous amount, 10 in the first trimester and like 20 each in the other too totaling 55 pounds. So far have only gained about 5 so I'm doing better then last time
