Default What is your birth plan?

Hey ladies!! June Ladies are having their babies and we are next. Let's talk about birth plans. What is your birth plan? Mine is just another ho hum hospital birth. I live in a town with no birth centers or midwives. If want something like that, I have to drive 2 hours to a nearest city. I do plan to labor at home longer if I can and be in my tub if my water doesn't break.

we have a midwife and are going to try for a home birth. We had a negative experience in the hospital with DS last time and would like to try and avoid that. If the home birth doesn't work out then we will have the hospital birth with the midwife.

I know! I can't believe we're so close! I don't really have a birth plan since I intend to just go with the flow. I made one with my first as our prenatal class said it was a good idea and didn't really use it. Knowing what labor is like, I will try to labor at home as long as I can but am happy to go to the hospital and take advantage of the epidural as well. We'll see how it goes!

With Ds 1 I had the whole natural water birth planned. I got to fully dilated with just has and air after only 6 hours of labouring, they had me pushing for nearly 3 hours before they decided to get me into theatre where I had forceps and a nasty episiotomy. Omg they dragged me in and out of that water, catheterised me three times and gave me who knows how many internals, it was awful. Then to top it off my episiotomy got infected and I had an open would for nearly four weeks.
After that experience I went straight for the epidural with Ds2 as was too terrified to even try a natural birth again. My experience with. Ds2's birth was lovely - calm, relaxed and I pushed him out within 20 minutes!

So this is where my dilemma is, I REALLY want to try for a natural water birth again but there is still a part of me that is terrified it will all go wrong again so it's making me think to just go for the epidural. I'm still so undecided!

I will be giving birth at the midwife center. I had a horrible experience with my first with all the interventions. My last two were natural and much better. Angela, why did they take you out of the water? That's awful. I had back labor with #3, and getting out of the water was painful. Are you using a m\w?

They said they had to keep examining me and place a catheter to check my bladder wasn't full and stopping the baby - even though I knew it was empty. I wish I'd have been firmer!
