Had a apt today and the dr just about gave me a heart attack he couldn't find the heartbeat and then asked me if they found it the last time I was seen. Took him 5+ mins to find I was getting worried. Babies heart rate 150-160 and got my big ultrasound date Feb 17th. I wasn't very impressed with the dr he is new in the pratice good thingnthey habe 4 other drs that I love!

Hiya,

That must have been very scary.

I am not sure if it is a UK thing or not but I still have not heard the babies heartbeat. We had a 12 week scan and can see it moving.

I have my 20 week scan in 2 weeks so maybe I will hear it then.

I am worrying because I am not sure if I am feeling it move yet or if it is my imagination.

They always had a hard time finding my DD's heart beat with the doppler so I don't usually worry when it takes them awhile.

Are you excited for the ultrasound?

It's going way too fast ! 15 weeks today. 25 weeks to go doesn't seem like a lot.

I had something similar happen at my 16 week appointment with my daughter. As we had heard the hb at previous appointments my doctor warned me it was not looking good and sent me for an emergency u/s. I freaked out and was a mess. In my defence, I had a missed m/c at 12 weeks only a few months before getting pregnant with her. Luckily, after a major scare, it was all ok. This time she wouldn't listen at 12 weeks (did an in-office scan instead) and I saw the midwives next and they don't use Doppler before 20 weeks. I'm happy to not get the fright.
